Netanyahu is a notorious liar, and it's high time the Syrian side learns to properly respond to Israeli hasbara, hence my phrasing that I was waiting for the official response (which was hardly worth waiting for).
To respond to your comment, however, Sharaa would absolutely owe Syrians an explanation if such a ludicrous action had taken place, especially since that call (which nobody believes took place) would have been made after Israel bombed our capital.

@ReemRifai_ Absolutely, things have changed since the 90s and 2000s, and much of Israeli society has been sliding further right. Even if the current criminal in charge gets kicked out, the future looks so bleak.
