I learned today that Kamala Harris and Andrew Jackson have one thing in common. Their parents were immigrants to our country. I'm hoping that they will have a second thing in common in the very near future.
I hope voters remember Trump's political rallies during the 2020 election period. He knew that most attendees would not wear masks and that Covid would spread as a direct result. Totally irresponsible behavior, and very revealing about his priorities. Sadly, many people forget.
Trump should be asked exactly what he would have done to mitigate the inflation problem if he had become President in 2021. He certainly could not have prevented it. The inflationary forces were there (mostly pandemic related). Would he have done better than Biden? I doubt it!
@BrianBellia@BjornLomborg@benshapiro You make many claims. I've attempted to fact check a few of them. You are wrong about snow. You are wrong about coral. You are right about crop and vegetation increasing, an interesting phenomenon which I suspect some scientists did predict. I'm very skeptical overall.
@BrianBellia@DLoesch In case you are a climate denier, you might find this video helpful. It is Carl Sagan warning our legislators in 1985 about the seriousness of the issue: https://t.co/HLBTPc0rcX
@BrianBellia@DLoesch Here is a report from February about the IRA: https://t.co/2r5tedLE4Y
Of course, I wish it did more. Altering the climate for the better is a very difficult challenge. At least we can try to slow down making it worse.
@BrianBellia@DLoesch@Ralph11235813
Solyndra accounts for a loss of about $500 million, a tiny percentage of the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which included many, many investments of various kinds. Inevitably, some may be boondoggles. Hundreds of billions?? You are exaggerating.
@BrianBellia@DLoesch The IRA contributed very little, if anything, to inflation. It is a long term bill, less than a trillion dollars over 10 years. Tackling climate change is an important part of the bill and is certainly not an indulgence.
@BrianBellia@DLoesch Inflation in the USA is partially due to the $3.1 trillion pumped into our economy in the stimulus bills signed into law by Trump in 2020 ($2.2 trillion in 3/2020 & $.9 trillion in 12/2020). Economists warned about the inflation danger at that time. You should blame Trump too.
@westerlaken2@DavidWolfe Did you forget that Trump signed into law two Covid relief bills totally $3.1 trillion ($2.2 trillion in 3/2020 and .9 Trillion in 12/2020)? The Biden bill was early in 2021. Covid was still raging throughout 2021. Clearly, Trump has a lot of responsibility for inflation.
Economists say that the bipartisan stimulus bills were a strong factor in causing inflation. At least $5 trillion came into our economy rather quickly. People illogically blame Biden and forget Trump's role: $2.2 trillion in March, 2020, then $.9 trillion in December, 2020.
I am hoping that Biden decides to pass the torch to Kamala Harris. She would make her VP choice, maybe a popular governor like Josh Shapiro. Such a dramatic move could bring a lot of much needed excitement to the Democratic side. Trumps odds of winning would plummet IMO.
@RepMTG Can someone here conjecture why Trump wanted to keep boxes and boxes of documents (classified and unclassified) in direct violation of the 1978 Presidential Records Act? His obligation under the law was absolutely clear. It is a mystery to me why he resisted obeying that law.
@RepMTG Do you really not understand the bail system. It is actually the judge who sets bail based on the specific details of each case. People who can afford the bail simply pay it. Do you truly believe that poor people should languish in jail merely because of a lack of money.
I wonder if the United States debt is really a serious problem. Roughly 72% of our debt is held by US entities, e.g., banks, retirement accounts, the FED, Social Security Reserves, etc. Thus, the interest is mostly coming back into our economy. Tax payers to tax payers.
@RepMTG I am very puzzled by your tweet. Don't you want someone accused of committing serious crimes to be tried and punished if found guilty by a jury of citizens? I am sure your constituents would want that. How could anyone seriously object to that? Very puzzling.
One obvious difference is that the justification of the war in Iraq was based on the false information concerning WMDs. The war in Gaza is a result of the October 7th massacre.
I wonder if there is a significant difference between the present war in Gaza and the war in Iraq. Many innocent Iraqi's died as a result of the USA's bombs, including many children, and also as a result of starvation due to the sanctions. Was the USA guilty of genocide?
@RepMTG I don't see any weapons. Calling it a war seems rather absurd. What you are observing is a world-wide problem and should be approached in a humane and intelligent way. I have seen many of your tweets about this issue, but never any sign of humanity or intelligence on your part.
