@rupamsmail When the government wants something → Sunday becomes working day.
When bankers want something promised in 2024 → “still under consideration”.
Tomorrow is not just a working Sunday.
It’s dictatorship dressed as “customer convenience”.

Dear Comrades,
The fight for Five-Day Banking must not be seen merely as a struggle for implementation of an agreement that has remained pending for more than 30 months. This is a fight for our existence, our dignity, our families and our fundamental right to a humane working life.
Public Sector Bank employees serve far more customers than our private-sector counterparts. Even with private banks accounting for a substantial share of the banking market, it is overwhelmingly the Public Sector Banks and their employees who carry the burden of Government-sponsored schemes, financial inclusion, social-sector banking and the last-mile delivery of public policy.
We work for institutions owned by the people and for a Government that expects us to reach every citizen. We have never shied away from that responsibility. But those who expect us to serve the nation must also recognise one simple truth:
We are not robots. We are not machines. We are not AI tools. We are human beings.
We have families waiting for us, children who need our time, parents who need our care, and lives beyond targets, reviews, late-night meetings and relentless workplace pressure.
We are not asking for privilege. We are asking for dignity, balance and justice.
The growing culture of excessive working hours, constant pressure and an increasingly toxic work environment cannot become the new normal. Five-Day Banking is one important step towards restoring humanity to our workplaces.
Save the banker. Save the banking family. Respect the commitment already made.
Five-Day Banking is not a luxury.
It is not an unreasonable demand.
It is a just demand whose time has come.
Let us stand together, for ourselves, for our families and for the generations of bankers who will come after us.
Five-Day Banking is For Dignity. For Family. For a Humane Workplace.
March ahead with courage and unity for the three-day strike from 28th to 30th September and make it a resounding success. No fear, no threat and no intimidation can weaken our collective resolve. Officers and employees stand together , we are all strikers in this historic struggle.

Till now, even bankers don’t know: What exactly are we expected to do tomorrow?
What should the public ask bankers tomorrow?
What new agenda will be brought by DFS, RBI and IBA in their attempt to target bankers, instead of ensuring clarity and protecting public banking services?
The strike could have remained peaceful and orderly. But DFS turned it into a mess by trying to portray bank employees as the villains.
Now, the real issue is exposed: the way such a vast financial system, serving more than a billion Indians, is being handled is deeply concerning.
Confusion, conflicting instructions and last-minute decisions do not strengthen the banking system — they expose institutional inefficiency.
The public deserves clarity.
Bankers deserve clear instructions.
And a financial system of this scale deserves better governance.

Top Management of,
All Government Banks
If you really care for customer's inconvenience and poor customer service then :
➡️ Fill up the vacancies for better customer service
➡️ Private Bank : 400 customer per employee; Govt. Bank : 2000 Customer per employee. Please improve staff strength accordingly.
➡️ Please improve Server/ Software functionality for fast data processing
➡️ Improve Branch infrastructure like Computers, Printers, Building, Furniture, Network Connectivity
➡️ Replace outdated Computers and printers
➡️ Improve Mobile Banking App and Internet Banking
➡️ Simplify KYC, CKYC, ReKYC process
Inspite of these issues the Customer complaints are lower in Government Banks than private Banks.
Hence, stop blaming and cursing your own staff for customer inconvenience to hide your own failures.

Parliament average: 55 sitting days a year
Bankers: 6 days a week + Sunday openings “for the nation’s development”
MPs: Tax-free Salary ,old pension scheme and allowance
Bankers: Extra days + targets + pressure
Being a banker is not cool.
Being the only ones expected to build the nation while others enjoy long weekends is even less cool 🤡
Development ke naam pe double standards Not Cool

“How many PSU bank employees in India have committed suicide due to work pressure over the past 10 years?”

Many people are making fun of bankers and losing their minds over the fact that bankers are going on strike from 28 Sep to 30 Sep.
But what if I tell you that what the public sees bankers doing is only 5% of their actual work?
The remaining 95% is internal work, much of which is pushed down by higher management.
And higher management only cares about whether those 95% of tasks are completed. If you don't complete them, you have no idea what you are going to face.
On top of that, bankers also have to deal with some nonsense customer demands, like some who make 100 UPI transactions every day but can't breathe until their passbook is updated every single day, even in the era of digital banking.
I was probably the happiest guy when I joined IDBI Bank as a PO in 2014, because it was a PSU bank back then and I was joining as an officer.
But within the first 2-3 days, I got frustrated after seeing the reality from the inside.
It was a government job, but the work pressure was worse than IT companies.
One of my brothers works in California and another works in Bangalore, so I know the work cultures in different sectors.
So, before making fun of bankers or judging them for going on strike, try to understand what happens behind the scenes.
I repeat,
“How many PSU bank employees in India have committed suicide due to work pressure over the past 10 years?”
