This has also just dawned on me that because of this, Boro now come into the play offs with the advantage of knowing that if they were playing it was always going to be Hull. Hull on the other hand have been training to play two different sides… they’ve had a shocker 😂 #dcfc
They’ve done wrong by the rules sure, but so have so many others and never faced this severity of consequence. You’ve got teams in the Premier League backhanding 40 odd million pounds and had 100+ charges issued but still won’t see as severe punishment. So harsh #dcfc#dcfcfans
@_MorganShanks@paulnew29783815 Something that if they got promoted they’d struggle and if they didn’t go up it would put the club in jeopardy for the following season in the championship. Now they’re out of the knockouts with a nothing deduction and no fine.

@AshT2889 Leicester City cheated the league of overspending 20 million pounds. They were given a 6 point deduction to an already premier league side. It’s about principle but also keep consistent.
@sid_rambling Haha serious contradiction here. How many games did they spy and How do we know Saints beat Hull? Both assumptions one worth nothing, the other worth 200 million pounds.
@_BourneIdentity No also agreed but the opportunity has been taken away for a very minor offence.
Leicester overspent by about 20 million pounds and got a 6 point deduction…
Are they both not gaining an advantage?
@whatson2002@_BourneIdentity TV money they then gain from the Premier League, Parachute payments, the gain on the commercial side of things.
That opportunity has been taking away from them because they watched training…
Leicester massively overspent what they were allowed and got 6 points deducted.
@gimble123@paulnew29783815 Or make the fine substantial enough that if they did get promoted following the rule breaking, they’ve paid a good price for it. I fear now that rule breaks moving forward will be used for an example setting exercise rather than a sensible punishment.
@_BourneIdentity No, you are correct, however the loss that Derby and Luton suffered through relegation from the deductions they faced still don’t equal the 200 million that Southampton have now missed out on.
@_MorganShanks@paulnew29783815 Do you not think it’s a little harsh? The extremity of it is wild. Deduct them points, if they got promoted then suspend the points until they come back down.
@ianroberts52 Fine but teams within the EFL have broken rules (I would argue more serious) and faced a lot lesser charge for it.
Birmingham, Leicester, Reading these teams weren’t expelled for their rule breaking they were deducted points.
@paulnew29783815 Right but do we not think docking them 4 points is a good enough punishment for watching a training session? Not taking away a chance at 200 odd million pounds…?
Not sure if it appeals to my followers on here but trying something new with streaming and got a Derby Past and Present team I’m playing with on FC26, any support would be massively appreciated…

Absolute cop out here by the way. There’s no shame in losing to Southampton who were arguably the best side in the championship by the end of the season, but don’t put the majority of it on a man hiding in the bushes. You’ve lost the game fairly, get on with it. #dcfc#dcfcfans
@thegrimdawg So you think someone watching training (from a completely public car park btw) has gained them a significant advantage? You, as the grim reaper, could go and stand in the exact spot that guy did with no repercussion.
