Guwahati HC says no constructions in the #Kamakhya Corridor until the geo-hydrological survey is done by IIT.
Ideally this should have been step 0, before making ANY engineering or architectural plans or construction contracts, but here it is just the reverse. If not for the two court cases anyone can understand what damage would have transpired. So now the Government has declared they will ask IIT for vetting and MoU will be signed. Till then no constructions allowed.
Further, the honorable courts have mentioned nothing should affect the holy streams of Kamakhya inside the garba griha - which naturally means, now, IF the corridor has to be done, THEN EVERY plan must be re-done from scratch, since the geo-hydrological assessment was not taken into account earlier.
Small victory, this was one first plea to the Courts as devotees. The Govt tried to discredit us using rubbish claims of agenda etc - all nonsense, what else can they do - but it is rather the Government itself which has been less than clear and honest in this matter for months... This is why the courts had to be approached, else they would have spoiled the pitha completely.
Small victory. But crucial one. Now it is on record in an official court judgement that the sacred streams of water inside the sanctum of the Mahavidya temples cannot be harmed in any manner by constructions.
That it comes right during the time of Ambubasi is significant.
Thanks to everyone who worked towards this, as a seva to the deity, in-spite of many challenges.
May the glory of #Kamakhya never end. May the Indomitable #Kalabhairava protect our great Shakti pitha-s from damage.

Not a coincidence. Never!
I remember when I was walking in an empty street once at late night. Couple of perverts tried to stalk me. Thought my life was done that night! Just looked at the sky and thought "Oh God. Is this the end you have written for me.?"
Then I see a couple of dogs including a ferocious black one running out from nowhere towards me and scared the hell out of those perverts ferociously.
This was when I was doing my shakti mantra japa along with a simple "Om Bhairavaaya namaha."
Dont let your mind question you. It's your God who is with you.
Many gram devata temple have women serving as priests. Also many so called lower castes hv specific sub caste as priests officiating community specific rituals. Nd temples. That’s ground reality as against the popular myth of only brains being priests or women being impure.
Who was a Suta and were they discriminated against in Mahabharata?
We often come across the narrative that Karna, who was adopted by a Suta family, faced discrimination all his life because of being a Suta. This somehow alludes to the fact that Suta was a low caste and was discriminated against by upper caste people.
Surprisingly this discrimination theory is not put forward in context of other Sutas mentioned in our epics.
In order to analyze this whole situation we need to first understand, who was a Suta?
And this is precisely why mega scale demolition on the nilaparvata Kamakhya, for the sake of 'development' and 'touristification' is a terrible TERRIBLE idea - cost of which can bring affects unimaginable, in areas one cannot even think.
This pitha has existed for over 3000+ years and seen the rise and fall of innumerable kings and royals and anyone who thought they were smarter and could manipulate things. Humans never learn, not until Nature gives mind-numbing shocks.
Jai Ma #Kamakhya

In the process of the heavy construction activity proposed in the Nilaparvata Kamakhya there is a good chance that the ecology and hydrology of the place can get affected. The mountain has natural formation of the mahavidya-s in caves and water, all that can get damaged, obstructed etc if heavy demolition activity is performed.
Therefore the petition, sign and share:

On the auspicious Pradosham day & Trayodashi, delighted to announce the pre-order of my new book "Waiting for Shiva: Unearthing the Truth of Kashi's Gyan Vapi" from @BluOneInk. It traces the long, stormy history of one of our most sacred places, the numerous waves of destruction, the bitter contestation till date & the resilience of our ancestors to reclaim it. Pauranic & agama texts, jataka tales, travelogues, Persian & colonial records, archives & copious legal documents have been used in the research. The book wouldn't have been possible but for @adv_hsjain ji & @Vishnu_Jain1 Bhai, the fearless dharmic warriors to whom me &all of us owe an immense gratitude; @praveenBlu & the good folks at @BluOneInk who believed in the project; to Prof KS Kannan, renowned Sanskrit scholar & Indologist for helping me decode texts, dear @ARanganathan72 & most importantly His Holiness @KudaliSringeri Shankaracharya Abhinava Sankara Bharati Mahaswamiji for his guidance & blessings. As we gear up for the ASI survey report, let's know the history and strife that Kashi has braved, despite all odds.
Har har Mahadev 🙏

@pahadanldki_SK @krishnpria Every Road every railway line n water project requires some people's sacrifice in the larger interest. They will be compensated. In Kashi the displaced got excellent compensation.
If they are real bhakts they ask for better compensation and move on. Don't indulge in mudslinging
