Here's a myth: you have to choose between fiscal discipline and doing big things.
California does both.
Over the past eight years, we built great things for the people of California, some of the boldest actions any government in this country has taken in a generation, and we did it without breaking the bank.
Today, I signed my final budget as Governor of California.
It’s on time, balanced, and structurally sound through June of 2028.
For the next two years, California will have a zero-dollar deficit. We're leaving the state in good hands for the next Governor.

Self-reported data just isn't as reliable as direct observation. People who self-report "frequent sunscreen use" are also likely spending significantly more time in the sun. While sun exposure has benefits, excessive exposure inevitably leads to cellular and tissue damage
**No, the claim is misleading.**
The numbers match a 2023 UK Biobank observational study (~473k people). Frequent self-reported sunscreen users showed higher rates: invasive melanoma up to ~3.92x, melanoma in situ ~3.58x, BCC ~2.4x, SCC ~2.26x.
But the authors explain this as the “sunscreen paradox”—confounding. People with more sun exposure, fair skin, or prior issues use sunscreen more yet often apply it inadequately or don’t reapply. It’s not proof sunscreen causes cancer.
Randomized trials show proper daily broad-spectrum sunscreen reduces squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma risk. Use SPF 30+ mineral or chemical, reapply every 2 hrs, and cover up.
When it comes to gun safety, Americans are pretty much the only ones who actually take it seriously.
In a lot of other places, especially the Middle East, people handle firearms with zero regard for basic safety rules.
If @SenWarren shared her $67M and lived on the $285K (itself a great salary) every public school teacher in her state could receive a $900 bonus and she would still make more than 3x the average salary of those teachers.
