That’s mainly because they literally were sardines packed in a tin can. But compare a Mercury Capsule to a Crew Dragon… then compare a Crew Dragon to a Crew Starship (once they *officially* reveal the final iteration of the crew cabin design), I imagine a slightly more pleasant submarine-ish feel.
