Discussed “India 3.0 Engaging for Growth in a Disrupted World” with my former colleague Amb @navdeepsuri Ji, my friend and PAFI Co-Founder Sh Ajay Khanna Ji, and other distinguished professionals at the 13th Annual Forum 2026 organised by @PAFIIndia.

Our conversation naturally turned to how India has navigated an increasingly uncertain global energy landscape.

As geopolitical tensions disrupted traditional supply routes and put global energy markets under severe pressure, India’s preparedness and timely decisions helped ensure that energy supplies remained secure.

Domestic LPG production was ramped up significantly, from around 34,000 MT per day to 55,000 MT per day, while supplies were diversified through alternative sources and household requirements were accorded priority.

The result was uninterrupted availability of essential fuels for our households, industries, transport sector and retail outlets keeping kitchens running, mobility uninterrupted and the wheels of our economy moving.

In an era of global uncertainty, India’s experience demonstrates the importance of building resilience before a crisis arrives through preparedness, diversification and timely decision-making.

Held an engaging and insightful interaction with a delegation of nearly 70 outstanding, confident and knowledgeable young professionals and researchers from diverse disciplines as part of the Rising Leaders Programme, organised by ILead Global Foundation @ileadglobe and India Office of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung @kas_india.

India is scripting an unprecedented energy security story under the visionary leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji. Today, India’s energy diplomacy resonates across the world as we secure uninterrupted supplies, diversify our energy basket and ensure access to affordable and sustainable energy for our citizens, despite the ongoing geopolitical crises affecting major global energy-producing regions.
Even as several parts of the world grappled with an energy shock and surging fuel prices, India stood out for maintaining stable domestic fuel prices, and shielding its citizens from the full impact of global volatility.

We also discussed how India is the world’s 3rd largest energy consumer, 3rd largest crude oil importer and 4th largest refiner, consuming around 5 million barrels of oil per day. India is also expected to account for nearly 25% of global energy demand growth over the next two decades.

आज प्रधानमंत्री @narendramodi जी के जन्मदिन पर दिल्ली में माताओं-बहनों के साथ ‘आशीर्वाद का दीया’ जलाने का अवसर मिला।

सभी ने उनके स्वस्थ और दीर्घायु जीवन की कामना की।

मोदी जी के मार्गदर्शन में बीते 12 वर्षों में देश के हर वर्ग ने बदलाव को महसूस किया है और विकास की नई कहानी लिखी है।
मोदी सरकार की “महिला केंद्रित” योजनाओं ने नारी शक्ति को पंख दिए और आज वे ऊँची उड़ान भर रही हैं।

स्वच्छ भारत मिशन ने महिलाओं को सम्मान और स्वच्छता का वातावरण दिया, उज्ज्वला योजना ने रसोई में स्वच्छ ईंधन पहुंचाकर उनके स्वास्थ्य को बेहतर किया और प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना ने लाखों महिलाओं को घर के स्वामित्व से जोड़ा।

आज की महिला सिर्फ़ योजनाओं की लाभार्थी नहीं है, वह देश के विकास की सक्रिय भागीदार और नेतृत्वकर्ता बन रही है। यही बदलाव Women-led Development की दिशा में नए भारत की यात्रा को दर्शाता है।

‘आशीर्वाद का दीया’….यह सिर्फ़ दीप जलाने का कार्यक्रम नहीं, बल्कि उन सपनों को रोशनी देने का संकल्प था, जिन्हें प्रधानमंत्री श्री @narendramodi जी के नेतृत्व में करोड़ों भारतीयों ने सच होते देखा है।

दिल्ली में आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में माताओं-बहनों और सामाजिक लोगों के साथ मिलकर प्रधानमंत्री जी के स्वस्थ जीवन और दीर्घायु की कामना की।
इस अवसर पर मैंने कुछ महिलाओं को सिलाई मशीनें देकर उनके हुनर को आत्मनिर्भरता और आत्मनिर्भरता को आर्थिक सशक्तिकरण से जोड़ने का प्रयास किया। Students को कंप्यूटर देकर उनके सपनों को नई उड़ान और भविष्य को नई दिशा देने का अवसर दिया।

जब नारी के हाथ में हुनर और युवा के हाथ में तकनीक होती है, तब परिवार ही नहीं, पूरा समाज आगे बढ़ता है।

जिसने जन-जन का जीवन सँवारा,
उसे आशीर्वाद हमारा।

On a sad day for our family, my mami Dr. Surinder Himmat Singh Ji has passed away. She leaves behind a legacy we, and our coming generations, will always cherish and be proud of.

The foundation of the India we live in today was laid by ordinary Indians who rose on the wings of extraordinary dreams. One such person was my Mami Ji, affectionately known as Dr. Sweety Singh to generations of her students.

Her life journey, from overcoming the ravages of Partition to breaking the glass ceiling that existed for women in her time, is truly remarkable and deeply inspirational.

In 1953, when I was just a year old, women’s education and empowerment were still taking their first tentative steps. At that time, Mami Ji was among the pioneering women who entered the medical profession and helped open doors for generations that followed. She completed her MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College and, in the early 1960s, returned to the same premier institution as a member of its faculty.

We were pleasantly surprised when Lakshmi’s school friend, Dr. Rita Pathania, shared with photos of Mami Ji being felicitated at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the 1975 batch of Lady Hardinge Medical College.

The photographs she shared took me on an unexpected journey down memory lane. Alongside the pictures from the felicitation were several beautiful B&W photographs from decades ago.

One photograph, in particular, had brought back a flood of memories. It is a picture of me as a young boy, sitting with my entire family. I understand that it was taken after my parents and I returned from Bonn, where my father was posted. We then lived for two years with my Mama Ji and Mami Ji.

These photographs remind me of the remarkable woman sitting there, my Mami Ji, who had quietly forged her own path at a time when very few women had the opportunity to do so.

Her story is a reminder that nation-building is not always about grand public moments. Sometimes, it happens quietly - in classrooms, hospitals, homes and families, through people who choose to challenge the limitations of their times.

Her memory and extraordinary life will always be celebrated.
