Pleased to meet with the new Secretary General of the League of Arab States @arableague_gs Nabil Fahmy and to congratulate him on his appointment while wishing him success in his new role.
We had a productive discussion on Libya and the importance of advancing Libyan-led efforts to reunify state institutions, strengthen stability, and bring an end to years of political division. The United States remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote unity, inclusive governance, and a more secure and prosperous future for the Libyan people.
We also discussed the critical role of the Quint (the League of Arab States, EU, UN, African Union, and IGAD) in facilitating Sudanese civilian dialogue and laying the groundwork for a civilian-led government that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people. It is time for the belligerents to end this devastating conflict and transfer leadership of the country to civilians.

A meeting that didn't happen in Ramallah took place today in Amman. Today’s meeting between the SG & Palestinian President left a real sense of momentum.

This World Cup marks a historic milestone, with eight Arab teams at the World Cup for the first time, a clear reflection of how far the game in the region has come, and the growing ambition it carries on the global stage.

One of the heartwarming scenes we have witnessed has been the spontaneous celebrations of Arab fans from different countries, rejoicing in each other’s victories as their own. A powerful reminder that what unites us is always greater, and that sport has the unique ability to bring hearts and nations together.
