@arestaurant_guy My wife has celiac's. The GF fad brought awareness which is cool!
I watch the waiter for an eye roll when she mentions she's GF. When I see it, I ask them not to poison her.
Also, crazy how many places still don't know about it or what's in their own food!
@gingertau @RobertMSterling I think part of the problem was too many fingers in the pie. Various agencies were getting a cut, even though the sheriffs and courts did all the work.
Hard disagree. I think that's how old I was when I started my first company. That experience can't be found elsewhere. Even if the business fails (likely), you'll come out a better employee.
@SteveOnSpeed My brother hated being stationed in North Dakota.
And I've only heard bad things about Oklahoma. It's like Texas without the charm it anything to do.
A Florida squatter was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Olandis Hobbs filed fraudulent paperwork in late 2022 to transfer a $700,000 condo to himself.
Hobbs’ victim was an 85-year-old woman and her children.
Hobbs has committed similar acts in like New York, but was only sued—not arrested.
Hobbs' sentence includes 25 years for fraudulent use of personal identification information and 15 years for grand theft over $100,000.
@KiraaWells@GuyTalksFinance On the last point, developers can't go too rural because fire insurance rates are high. That affects cost of land and affordability after the sale.
Altogether, these would bring the average home build price down ~$200k. A *lot* more people could afford homes at $250k.
@KiraaWells@GuyTalksFinance In CA:
• Remove requirements for solar, EV hookups, and fire sprinklers (saves $100k)
• Any inspection that may be cancelled when inspectors are too busy should be dropped entirely
• Speed permit process
• Stop demanding community kickbacks from developers
• Control PG&E
@my_tv_life@TheDrugMoney Deceptive nutritional info says a cookie is 4 servings. Crumbl is delicious because it's all butter and sugar. But it's not worth 1,000 calories per item.
The stores also lose value rapidly. Expansion has high margins then the sales cool as the stores are sold off.
@StephenGlansbrg@TheDrugMoney Some make fresh onion rings and they're amazing! But fried food isn't popular and most locations around here have closed.
@GuyTalksFinance 1. If the property is worth $4,000/mo the property doesn't care about the interest rate. Prices won't really skyrocket, but the payments will stay even: more money to the seller.
2. Inventory is still low which is the primary driver for housing costs in most markets.
Two days in a row I've received "notice of data breach" letters. Maybe private companies whose interests are not necessarily the safety and security of their customers should not be storing such info?
Or is that crazy?
