Henry Nowak is another reminder of how incompetent police officers often lead to the death of victims. If you're taking someone into custody and restraining them against their will, you damned well better take their medical concerns seriously — especially when they claim they've been shot or stabbed and it takes nearly nothing to visibly verify their claim. Not the same, but a similar thing happened to Ryan Waller. Police interrogated him for 6 HOURS! not believing he'd been shot in the head, even though it was obvious something was terribly wrong with him. If it wasn't for that long delay, the infection wouldn't have been so severe and the complications related to the injury wouldn't have been as dire.
The most troubling aspect of what happened in the UK is that it's systemic. The UK government is systemically persecuting the very people that brought it into existence.

Heads need to roll over this ...
