I made a Google sheet template to search + extract data from 100's of Pubmed papers — to help @JessicaSacher write reviews + grants faster!
Now I'm sharing it with the world!

Hey, we have a new paper out! In collaboration with Brian Hammer's group, we examine how E. coli evolves to *resist* being killed by the Type 6 Secretion System (basically a microbial poison-tipped spear attack).

We have investigated YhdP at the molecular level to show that it forms an envelope-spanning bridge and that putative phospholipids are found inside this bridge!
What happens to the E.coli outer membrane when it can't efficiently insert proteins? OM asymmetry is lost and mislocalized outer leaflet phospholipids become crucial!
Check out our collab characterizing this process w/ @JiaweiSun19 and KC Huang!

The front page of tomorrow's @dailytarheel –
I shed many tears while typing up these heart-wrenching text messages sent and received by UNC students yesterday. Our campus was on lockdown for more than three hours.
Beyond proud of this cover and the team behind it.
These researchers faced failure early, during their #PhD studies, and came through the other side sucessfully. They shared their stories with @edbites https://t.co/ZMeojyKHna
To grow the bacterial outer membranes, #bacteria need to transport lipids to the outside.
For this, they use ferries, bridges and tunnels that allow #bacteria to expand and thrive.
