@KariLawler Good video as always. Giving TLC to any Gameboy is invariably worthwhile, however I'd have liked to see the games working too, just to satisfy our curiosity about the whole bundle and what a bargain it was.
@SuperSisi I really wanted a Steam Machine but at that price...I know I can build similar or better for only a few hundred more with a decent last-gen graphics card so...I don't think so. However I know SteamOS will still be part of the setup.
I'm one of those people who play @Ubisoft's #FarCry Primal with the subtitles switched off. Letting the proto-language wash over you and, eventually, understanding parts of it makes the immersion so much better.
@RinoTheBouncer If the 'magic' was the result of advanced Isu technology controlling the space around it, that might have been fine. That at least has been explored before in the series. If it was just there for its own sake, that's a different franchise entirely.
@BoundaryBreak When I was young it never occurred to me that games were designed to take advantage of CRT phosphor blurring to display smoother pixels. Then monitors switched to LCD and those old games suddenly looked 'crunchy'. A great example of utilising a technology's limitations well.
@JimyDrive I bought the PS1 mini when it went on sale for less than half price. It was definitely worth the money, especially when modded to play all the back catalogue. I'd argue that's how it should've been from the start.
Like most other people, I really want to play 'Dad Space', aka #Pragmata. The trouble is that from watching some early-stage playthroughs online, my gamer instincts are screaming there will be a tragic ending of some sort. I'm not sure I can cope with that.
After discovering the secret of Elpis in #ResidentEvil Requiem and what it can do; deep down I wish there was a way to save 'The Girl' from the early chapters on subsequent runs. She didn't deserve such a fate. I must be getting soft, I'm empathising with the monsters. #Capcom
Gamers wonder why they should spend money on something where a high difficulty means they will never see most of the content.
Meanwhile, back in my day, this was pretty much the only option.
@StormslayerDev Heck, why bother optimizing games to make sure textures and lighting look good by baking illumination effects into the code? Just let resource-hungry RTX take care of all that because that's the reason why it exists, right?
I'm old enough to remember when you could slot your CPU into a motherboard like a graphics card. As odd as it sounds, I kinda miss this type of modular arrangement. #Pentium2#Retro
@Pirat_Nation "Boo hoo, if you don't embrace our unwanted slop then our unwanted slop project will fail." - #Microslop CEO Satya Nadella
Good. In fact if there's anything that can be done to hasten its demise I'm fully on board.
@ac_daily_news Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a good game with an interesting story. Unfortunately it went on and on and on with filler content coming out the wazoo. By the time the final DLC came out I was so exhausted that I couldn't even bring myself to play it. I still haven't.
I have played a lot of #AssassinsCreed over the years, but for various reasons I have zero impetus to play either Mirage or Shadows. I'm not even burned out on the franchise as I'm playing Odyssey again right now. The new games just look...meh.
@WindowsLatest I'm sorry, but apart from having to use and support it in my professional life, Microsoft Windows has run its course for me. Once Version 10 falls out of extended support it's time for Linux on my home systems.
@digitalfoundry Aspyr are really terrible at updating and converting games, you just have to look at their previous efforts with the original Tomb Raider series. There's no hope the upcoming remaster of Deus Ex will be any good.
@clemmygames I loved the aesthetics of this game, the memory mixing and the fight combo creation. It just needed a little extra 'oomph' and maybe be a bit less linear.
Being able to buy new consoles like the #Analogue3D that upscale retro games to 4K is a very nice option. Personally I think the conversion makes the graphics too crispy and jagged. If I were to buy one the CRT shaders would be working overtime to soften and blend the image again
@RinoTheBouncer I didn't understand the hate. It wasn't the best game ever but I had a fun time playing it. My biggest criticism was the horsepower needed to run it smoothly, it should've been optimized a lot more.
