Quite a statement from Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press about Trump's crackdown on reporters:

"Trump’s war on the press is looking for another victim, this time the storied federal prosecutors office in Manhattan. The subpoenas it issued to journalists at The New York Times break from longstanding Justice Department practice to protect the public interest and press independence by requiring prosecutors to only seek information from reporters as a last resort when all other avenues have been exhausted. BREAKING: The IRGC says it attacked a commercial vessel and has declared the Strait of Hormuz CLOSED until further notice.

🚨NEWS: The Trump DOJ has subpoenaed New York Times reporters Julian E. Barnes, Eric Lipton, Tyler Pager, and Eric Schmitt after they reported on security concerns involving Trump’s new Qatari-donated Air Force One.

According to the Times, some subpoenas were delivered by federal agents at the journalists’ homes. The newspaper called it a “brazen act” and warned it is an attempt to intimidate reporters and undermine press freedom.
