“I am reporting a serious safety incident involving an Uber driver named Yusuf, who collected me from my home this evening in a blue Ford Fiesta, registration KD 51 LS GP.
When I entered the vehicle, I initially forgot that I needed to provide the PIN for the trip to begin. The driver’s phone was not visible to me and usually that’s how I remember if the driver doesn’t ask. So I asked why the trip had not started. Instead of simply informing me that he needed the PIN, Yusuf responded to me very rudely, asking how he expected the trip to start if I had not given him the PIN.
I told him that he could have simply explained that to me and asked why he was being rude. He then told me that if I thought he was being rude, I could get out of his vehicle. I immediately complied and got out. Also I’m not trying to mess with my life at night with so many cases I’ve seen and I really did not appreciate the rudeness.
As soon as I exited the vehicle, Yusuf reversed the vehicle with speed in my direction in attempt to bump me. He later claimed that he was simply trying to reverse, but he was aware that I was behind the vehicle!!! . Instead of waiting for me to move away before reversing, he reversed quickly in my direction. And I screamed and my mom heard me and came out.
I immediately began calling for assistance from the security guards at my residence as I’m rushing to my house, asking them not to allow the vehicle to leave. I then went to the gate with my mother so that she could hear what had happened.
While we were at the gate, Yusuf continued behaving aggressively and threatened me. He said that he would “go mad on me” threatening to beat me up. My mother directly told him that he would not do so. Two security guards were also present and witnessed this interaction.
Yusuf also accused me of being drunk, which was completely untrue. I don’t even drink first of all so he was again continuing to be rude.
During the incident, I was recording what was happening on my phone without intentionally recording or showing his face. Yusuf then grabbed my phone and refused to give it back to or my mom who also tried to grab it out of his hand. In the process, my phone’s screen protector was broken. He continued swearing at me and repeatedly used profanity.
What began as a simple misunderstanding regarding the trip PIN escalated into aggressive behaviour, a vehicle-related safety incident, threats of physical violence, interference with my phone and property, and continued verbal abuse.
I am asking @Uber_RSA to urgently investigate Yusuf’s conduct, review the trip and any available driver information, and take appropriate action regarding this serious passenger safety incident.” - @KabeloDladla_
“We (were) not there to talk about land, apartheid or how to hate black people, it’s none of that,” said Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, leader of March and March, on her meeting with AfriForum.
Ngobese-Zuma said she expected to face some backlash after meeting with the group. TCG
In all that you do please remember that March and March will not be voted for come November 4, we have promised nobody roads, a better life, better infrastructure and land…
March and March has only asked the people of South Africa to fight for their country and the choice remains theirs!! Those who will need votes from people are busy with March and March instead of campaigning to people and telling them why they should vote for you AGAIN?
What have you done for them in the past couple of years? What has been your contribution to the development of their communities or have you only just stolen money from the people ? What has been Your contribution to the Corruption in this country and how many promises have you actually fulfilled to the people who VOTED for you??
March and March owes nobody service delivery but we will make sure you no longer destroy this country…‼️
Happy Thursday

My stepson looked me dead in the eyes and told me to stop acting like his mom “you’re just my dad’s wife” so I stopped.
I’m 35. My husband is 40. We’ve been married for six years, and Davis is 16.
I came into his life when he was 9.
For six years, I was the person who knew which teacher he hated, what food he wouldn’t touch, when his assignments were due and which hoodie he’d wear three days in a row if nobody stopped him.
I packed his lunches. Signed his school forms. Took him to appointments. Paid for things his dad forgot about.
I never called myself his mother.
But I showed up like one.
Then last month, Davis and I had an argument because he wanted to go out on a school night.
I told him no.
He rolled his eyes and said, “You’re not my mom. You’re just my dad’s wife. Stop acting like you have authority over me.”
His father was in the kitchen.
He heard everything.
I looked at my husband, waiting for him to say something.
He just sighed.
“He’s sixteen. Don’t take it personally.”
So I didn’t.
I took it literally.
