@7z_3z8 The USB protocol is the biggest obstacle to realizing the true potential of 8K (though I believe we first need to switch from ADC interrupts to DMA). Otherwise, the latency will be shockingly high.
@illusivewraith@Yyiyun_Hibiya Controllers are analog. The stick physically has to travel through the center (x=10 ➔ 9 ➔ 0 ➔ -10). This creates a gradual, smoothed input curve, making it impossible to trigger the instant velocity needed. It's a hardcoded engine mechanic—even RC filtering cannot bypass it."
Guys, the reason RC isn’t considered fair isn’t because it reduces recoil. Controller input modes simply can’t reduce recoil through jitter at the code level. The reason it’s so powerful is that, under normal controller input conditions, it’s impossible to maintain a constant 0.3 assist strength at all times. RC allows you to maintain this intensity almost constantly while still having free control over your aiming. It also doesn’t result in higher assist values.
@illusivewraith@Yyiyun_Hibiya Bro I know RC filtering isn't fair, but it doesn't reduce recoil. Vector input from a controller just can't reduce recoil the same way mouse jitter does.
Honestly, I'm kinda scared for Apex's future. I know I've always been a doomer in this regard, but I'm really worried that if the game continues in its current trajectory that 2026 could be the last year of comp the game sees. I really want to see the game come back into the popularity it had during the end of covid, but It feels like something behind the scenes is stopping the changes that need to happen from happening. Whether its EA/Org relations, server performance fixes, balance changes or even content drops. I'm sure a lot of other people feel this same way, but maybe I'm wrong. Also don't take this as some signal of a retirement or some shit, I'm riding the game out till it's dead.
