For the sake of argument, let's grant the premise and consider your alternative.

Your god creates our eternal souls out of nothing without our consent, governs by threat, tosses us in a broken world we didn't ruin, hides the rulebook from virtually all his creations, and sends 99.9% of his creations to an eternal torture chamber on a theological technicality for his glory.

That's not the just and caring Father I find in the Bible. I can't worship, let alone love or emulate, a capricious monster like that.

If my sincere efforts to serve my God and my fellow man to the best of my ability earns me the wrath of a fickle imp who's pulling all the puppet strings... then so be it.

"Let me be resurrected with the [Latter-day] Saints, whether I ascend to heaven or descend to hell, or go to any other place. And if we go to hell, we will turn the devils out of doors and make a heaven of it!"

Thankfully, I know that the arbitrary "god" of John Edwards does not exist. I know where to find God. I find Him in scripture, I find Him in the teachings of the Prophet Joseph, and I find Him when I pray.

Jesus is perfectly just and perfectly loving. Everyone is His child, and His pan enables everyone to receive a full and equal opportunity for salvation. I believe I'm going to heaven, and what's more, if you're a decent person, I believe you'll be there with me.

I thank my Father in Heaven for these beautiful truths He has revealed through His Church-- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Savior has commanded each of us to love God and to love our neighbor. We are grateful for the faithful efforts of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who strive to fulfill this divine commandment. Their service is a witness of discipleship. 

My counselors in the First Presidency and I recently visited the Church’s new humanitarian center in Salt Lake City. This facility will serve an important role in preparing and distributing emergency supplies to meet global needs. 

I express appreciation for members of the Church and for all who minister in quiet and consistent ways. I testify of Jesus Christ, whose light and Spirit guide the children of God in caring for the poor and the distressed throughout the world.  

May we each accept and act upon this sacred responsibility to bless the lives of all of our Father’s children.

After deeply pondering this quote from @BednarDavidA the past week, I’ve decided to change my approach to how I show up on this platform.

From today forward, I’m done defending the doctrine. Completely.

“We don’t need to defend the doctrine. We need to declare it.” So that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I will boldly declare my personal testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and the pure, powerful doctrine taught by His Church, @Ch_JesusChrist. These truths stand on their own. They have changed my life, and I know they can change yours.

No more playing defense. No more letting false voices - “Mormons aren’t Christians,” “Jesus and Satan aren’t brothers,” or any other arrogant attacks - pull me off course.

I will declare the truth with clarity and conviction and invite every honest seeker of truth to “come and see” for yourself what the Savior’s restored gospel offers: real purpose, lasting peace, deep joy, and hope for you and your family.

The doctrine doesn’t need defending. It stands for itself.

I’m all in. No more games.

Even active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may sometimes have concerns about some historical, doctrinal, or social issues connected with the Church. I want to help all our members overcome present or future doubts.

When Latter-day Saints talk about the Restoration, we are not claiming Christ needed fixing.

Jesus Christ was never lost. His divinity was never diluted. His Atonement never failed. His resurrection never stopped saving.

The Restoration is not about restoring who Christ is or what He accomplished.

It is about restoring what He established.

Through the Restoration, Christ reestablished His authority on the earth. The same priesthood power He gave to His apostles. The same pattern of revelation. The same ordinances that bind heaven and earth. The same Church led by living prophets and apostles, called by Him, accountable to Him.

That matters because Christ does not just save individuals in isolation. He gathers. He organizes. He covenants. He sends authority to act in His name, not symbolically, but actually.

After the deaths of the apostles, that authority was lost. Not Christ. Not scripture. Not faith. Authority and the structure He personally set in place.

The Restoration is Christ reclaiming His Church, not reinventing it.

It restores the way He leads His disciples. Through revelation, not councils alone. Through priesthood keys, not borrowed authority. Through ordinances that do not just point to Him, but are authorized by Him.

This is why members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints testify so boldly of the Restoration. Not because we believe Christ finally showed up again.

But because we believe He never left.

He is still leading. Still calling. Still empowering His disciples. Still building His Church, the same way He always has.

That is the Restoration.

Today I bore my testimony, for the first time in front of others and for the first time to myself.

I am going to share my testimony with you and how my conversion happened.

For 29 years I was in the darkness, I let worldly temptations consume me. I was trying to fill a hole with drinking and other vices but I felt more unsatisfied and emptier after.
Every. Single. Time.
But I kept going back.

The summer of 2024 I kept getting thoughts and impressions to go to church. I kept pushing the thought back and unfortunately I didn’t listen for so long.

Just a couple months ago I kept getting these thoughts and impressions to go back again.

I was having a conversation with my boss, whom I’m close too, and asked if my family could go to church with him and his family. He agreed happily.

I got a text from him after work on Friday saying that it was the weekend of conference and he recommended watching that.

I did and I haven’t looked back since. After the Saturday session I reached out to the missionaries and started lessons the very next day. That led to my baptism of November 22, 2025.

I feel better than I ever have. Completely sober and with the love and gospel of our Savior in my life.
The life I was living, compared to the life I’m living now is literal black and white.

It’s been a long path. But I know our Church is true. I know we have prophets today that receive revelation from God & I say these things in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ amen.

I cannot express the gratitude that I feel for the trust from the Lord and the trust that President Oaks has shown to me. I love him and can testify that I know that he is the head of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by inspiration. I have seen the power of God come upon Him.

I’m so grateful for the people whose faith I know will sustain us in this great work of the restoration and the final preparation of the Lord’s Church for His coming. I bear you my testimony that preparation is occurring and that President Oaks is the perfect one to the do the things that I know the Lord will want done. I am grateful to be at his side. I testify Jesus is the Christ.
