Wishing the best to Warren Cromartie on his birthday today.
He played for the #expos in 1974 and then again from 1976-83.
Hoping he's making a good recovery from his back surgery a few years ago.
Most people hear “Le But” and think of the Habs anthem.
But the backstory is even more Canadian. 🇨🇦🏒
Loco Locass spent roughly 2½ years building the song - not just about hockey, but about what the Canadiens mean to Québec: Maurice Richard, the Forum, French and English Montreal, generations of players, and a team woven into the province’s cultural identity.
They finished it in 2008, but waited a year to release it after the Canadiens’ early playoff exit. 😳
Then in 2009, “Le But” arrived.
And in 2010, CBC used it during a Canadiens playoff broadcast—sparking controversy because the song’s ending references René Lévesque and the 1980 referendum.
Loco Locass’ response? It was ultimately a song about the Canadiens bringing people together.
That’s the magic of “Le But.”
A hockey song that somehow became a little piece of Canadian history. 🇨🇦🏒

Just in: Toronto Raptors All-NBA star Kawhi Leonard has agreed on a two-year, $115 million contract extension with the franchise, plus a player option for the 2028-29 season, his agent Harrison Gaines of SLASH Sports tells ESPN.
Hall of Famer Tim Raines was born on September 16, 1959.
In 1,452 games with the Expos, Raines set franchise records in runs (947), stolen bases (635), triples (82), walks (793), and singles (1,163). He also ranks second in Expos history in batting average (.301) and hits (1,622). #expos #montrealexpos
Done deal: The LA Clippers and Raptors have both agreed to complete the trade sending Kawhi Leonard to Toronto for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two unprotected first-round picks, one first-round pick swap and two second-rounders, per ESPN sources. The sides will now schedule a trade call.
Martin St. Louis was entering the final year of his deal. Probably took longer than expected to get the extension done, but the Canadiens got it done. Important piece of business.
Kazuma Okamoto just hit his 32nd HR of the season:
• back-to-back-to-back with Springer & Guerrero Jr.
• Blue Jays franchise record for RBI by a rookie (85)
• ties Seiya Suzuki for most HR by a right-handed hitting Japanese-born player
“I have a message for American friends. Yes, Canada is a generous, open country and Canadians are tolerant and kind. But never mistake our generosity for weakness. Never mistake our tolerance for lack of determination. And never, never mistake our kindness for softness."
— Former PM Jean Chrétien, speaking at 9/11 commemoration ceremony in Gander, N.L.
This HAS to be some kind of record 😧🇨🇦

He dressed and played unconventionally, was shunned by the PGA, but all who knew him called him a genius at golf.
Called Pipeline Moe for his incredibly accurate shots, he had 17 hole-in-ones in his career.
