It's done!
After 3 years of solo #indiedev Winter Falling: Battle Tactics is finally out! From a Game of Thrones joke to a serious game. What a journey.
Please help me spread the word! I really put my heart into this silly little game😅
I hope you like it!

Personally, I don’t like aggressive advertising, so I don’t feel like putting big “WISHLIST ON STEAM” everywhere. I believe if someone wants to follow or wishlist, they’ll find it.
I’ve updated the Steam page and added many new screenshots; the link is below. If you don’t want to check it, I’m adding 4 (its max) of them to this post anyway.
If you wishlist, I’ll really appreciate it.

I'm sorry to say when I first started my graphic design journey I also thought I could just cheat and focus on simple representations. No need to learn and improve! Just make excuses that this is all you need!
Having met some of these artists the answer is simple:
Talentless people make talentless art.
They're CONVINCED they're good artists but never learn anything beyond generic minimalist tricks.
Would you buy this epic fantasy? Seems to me Tolkien was right.
I have no idea why traditional publishers try to make every cover as lame as possible.
It’s not *that* expensive, but they are determined to make every title look like it’s been edited together by a knock-off photoshop.
@getlacedhoe@kleeposting At the time it was considered fake & shallow. Modern folk had real, authentic bangers but this was not it. These were cringey hippie wannabees.
For example - it's difficult to beat Bob Dylan, but this was a really nice find in 2009 https://t.co/hgYprejIoQ
Funny gamedev rule:
Beginners make tutorials.
Experts don't make tutorials, they work.
Even writing devlogs is a serious time investment when your time is valuable.
You're saying I could earn ALMOST $200/month making youtube videos? Great for unemployed beginners, not me.
Once you get to intermediate / advanced level in game development you start to see how there's very little tutorials on these topics and the internet is littered with beginner tutorials all teaching pretty much the same thing.
My great-granddad fought against the Russian invasion on September 17th 1939. Complained about their tactics.
Tanks drive in a column, you hit the first, others overtake it and continue straight. No need to change your gun's angle.
(Picture of 2022 Russian invasion unrelated)
Excellent case study of the unfair algorithm ; no one cares about history outside Western Europe
one granddad invades Albania with Mussolini
one granddad signs the Albanian Declaration of Independence
