We (the West) created the monster that is Netanyahu’s Israel. First we ethnically cleansed our Jewish compatriots towards the Middle East, then we applauded as they ethnically cleanse the original population, and finally we allowed them to keep expanding their borders and keep bombing their neighbours with our weapons, while we threaten those neighbours to hold still and not retaliate. This may work for 50 or 100 years but not much longer.

Imagine a world in which any one of these steps had not happened, and it would be a world vastly safer for Jews in the long run.

When you realise you’ve dug yourself into a hole, the first priority is to stop digging.

It is time to see the world with fresh eyes and work towards a new, more durable framework that actually protects civilians of all faiths against violence, mistreatment and expulsion, while crushing any trigger-happy maniacs who want to disturb the peace.

بلغت نسبة النمو في مستوردات سوريا من تركيا معدل 20% بين كانون الأول 2024 وشباط 2025. وبهذا احتلت سوريا المرتبة 22 من الدول الأكثر استيراداً من تركيا، بعد أن كان ترتيبها 31.

J'ai travaillé dans des hôpitaux en Afghanistan, en Ouganda, en Éthiopie, en Sierra Leone, au Soudan, au Cambodge... mais je n'ai jamais opéré autant d'enfants blessés qu'aujourd'hui dans la bande de Gaza. Dans l'unité des brûlés de l'Hôpital européen, nous avons désormais 78 patients, dont près des deux cinquièmes sont des enfants de moins de cinq ans. Je n'ai jamais rien vu de tel. J'ai été dans de nombreux contextes de guerre où le type de blessures est le même mais leur nombre est énorme. Nous ne quittons jamais l'hôpital. Nous travaillons 24 heures sur 24. Nous effectuons des opérations avec un minimum d’anesthésie. Si nous manquons de ressources, nous ne pourrons pas fonctionner, mais il n’y a pas de ligne claire. Il y a beaucoup de gens qui pleurent, qui crient de douleur, mais nous n’avons pas assez d’analgésiques. Nous les gardons pour les enfants ou les cas très graves. Normalement, nous changerions les pansements des patients présentant 40 % de brûlures sous sédation et minimiserions le temps en faisant appel à plus de personnel... Maintenant, cela doit être fait avec beaucoup de douleur. Nous essayons de garder la tête froide et calme, mais pour le personnel local, ce sont leurs familles, leurs amis, leurs collaborateurs. Ils ne veulent jamais amputer. Ils disent : « Je n’en peux plus » et alors je dis : « OK, je vais le faire, ne t’inquiète pas », et tu peux sentir le soulagement »"
