Hot off the press! Nerve biopsy is more sensitive than fat aspirate and skin biopsy for amyloid diagnosis in symptomatic ATTRv peripheral neuropathy (95% vs 48% and 53%). Great @MayoClinicNeuro enterprise collaboration and strong work from Mayo MS4 and incoming @UVANeurology star resident @APanrudkevich . @GreenJournal https://t.co/689eniGuQh
I had so much pleasure to interview Dr. Margherita Milone on this group of genetically determined disorders that may present with the triade of IBM, Paget's disease, and FTD. The phenotype is variable, which makes the diagnosis challenging.

After we spoke about neuromusculoskeletal symptoms caused by the decline of estrogen, in part 2, we will touch on the management (supplements, diet and exercise, and hormonal therapies)

Because menopause is not just about hot flashes and mood swings, I interviewed Ileana Howard, Seneca Storm, Rebecca O'Bryan, and Amanda Wise to speak about the impact of hormonal changes during menopause on the neuromusculoskeletal system.

I had the pleasure to interview Teerin Liewluck @TLiewluck and Pannathat Soontrapa to discuss monoclonal gammopathies associated myopathies. These myopathies are rare yet treatable. Muscle biopsy reamains a gold standard tool for diagnosis.

Had a great time discussing our study neural synaptic vesicle autoimmunity after aerosolized porcine neural tissue exposure on the podcast— thanks to Dr. Justin Abbatemarco for the thoughtful questions and excellent discussion. @Pranjal_Dexter
I am thrilled to share with you my recent publication on the misdiagnosis of ALS in Egypt. I found that misdiagnosis was common among Egyptian patients, resulting in remarkable diagnostic delay and disability at the time of final diagnosis

I’m excited to share that I will be one of the invited speakers at the 2026 Penn Neuromuscular Symposium. I will be talking about “Diagnosing and Managing Autoimmune Demyelinating Neuropathies.” The program looks fantastic, and I hope to see some of you there!
Not all demyelinating CMT neuropathies exhibit uniform slowing on nerve conduction studies. Some rare forms may present with non-uniform slowing with conduction block, and they are usually confused with acquired neuropathies.

I am thrilled to share with you my new publication in (Muscle and Nerve) journal. Monographs for the AANEM have been written by world muscle and nerve experts, and I am proud to join the club.

In my cohort, I found that CIDP overdiagnosis was common in Egypt. Causes included over-reliance on nebulous symptoms and subjective changes following immunotherapy, and overinterpretation of equivocal tests.

I am glad to share with you that I have become a member of the podcast editorial board of the @AANEMorg. As a member, I will collaborate to identify and invite experts for interviews and conduct interviews. I'm so excited to embark on this journey.
Don't forget that there are treatable causes for rippling muscle disease (RMD). In this review article, we proposed an algorithm to diagnose patients with RMD.

We were thrilled to have Dr. Divyanshu Dubey and Dr. Andrea Cortese in Egypt to participate in the neuromuscular conference.
I would like to thank the #peripheral_nerve_society for sponsoring this session and a big thank you to @MarcusVPinto, who facilitated this collaboration
