Today 6th Oct, took an Uber cab near IIMB around 8 am. It was difficult to communicate with him as he was not knowing Kannada but he was responding in some Urdu kind of language which I don't understand. Further while traveling around 8.15 am at before JP Nagar Metro Station on Ring Road, he drove recklessly and nearly touched a school bus. When school bus driver questioned, he could not reply in Kannada and sped off. What I understood is he has been in Bengaluru only about ONE MONTH back migrated from Kerala

At the end while dropping he said Sorry and told he was a student so I don't want to highlight his name and cab number in the interest of career of a young boy.

This is not about one driver from other state. The problem is larger still unresolved: Commercial vehicle rules that require basic Kannada language ability are not being enforced by the RTO and the Auto/Cab aggregators. Until that changes, the same situation will keep repeating.

ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಕೇಳುವುದು, ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿಯುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು, ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾವುಟ ಹಿಡಿದು ಗೌರವ ತೋರಿಸುವುದು — ಇಂತಹ ನಾಟಕೀಯ ಕ್ಷಮಾಪಣೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

ಕಾನೂನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘನೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಕಾನೂನಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಬೇಕು.
ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಭಾಷೆ, ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಲು ಕಾನೂನು ತನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು.

ಇವತ್ತು ಇವನು, ನಾಳೆ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ಎಂಬ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯಬಾರದು.
ಕಾನೂನಿನ ಭಯ ಇರಲಿ — ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಮೇಲೆ ಗೌರವ ಇರಲಿ.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಿ, ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟು ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿಯುವ ಮನೋಭಾವ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.

14th Century Eastern Ganga Dynasty of Odisha gold coin with Kannada inscription "Sa" (short for Samvatsara - regnal year) of King Narasimha Deva III. There is an "ankusha" (elephant goad) and battle axe on either side of the letter. Below the letter Sa is the regal year 5. On the other side is a seated nandi. @BellamSwathi Equating Kannadigas ‘extreme’ and ‘abnormal’ welcoming nature towards migrants to ‘Cosmopolitan’ and labeling them ‘polyglots’, is not the way you appreciate them. But agree with your point, extreme welcoming attitude is destroying their own identity and that’s a real problem.

@BellamSwathi You are getting all this freedom to abuse kannadigas only because Kannadigas are still not yet woken up from their deep sleep. If you want to see real awakened kannadigas strength, see Karnataka history. But History always repeats. Telugu script was also given by Kannadigas, btw.

Karnataka’s demographics has been the most altered due to rampant migration over the several years among all the south Indian states. Other states are linguistically ‘safer’ and have nothing to worry compared to Karnataka for the next sever centuries.

In 1970s and 1980s the rampant use of non Kannada in boards led to formation of Kannada sangha . Even when there is rule of 60-40 , which is violated so blatantly .
