In the eve of the anniversary of historic Washington meeting I see some activity among armenian diaspora, especially those connected to @ANCA_DC. They demand the release of "armenian POWs". Well, let's see why imprisoned armenian citizens can not be considered as POW (prisoners of war) according to Geneva Conventions:

- The old self‑proclaimed “Nagorno‑Karabakh Republic” lacked recognition from international actors, so its detachments cannot be the armed forces of a Party.
- Since the armenian armed forces in the Karabakh region that were fighting against Azerbaijan proclaimed themselves a state military army, they can't enjoy the expansion of "members of militias or volunteer corps".
- Breaching Article 4(2) of the Third Geneva Convention. The photo was taken during 2020 war in a kindergarten used as a military command center. In the photo are military commanders (Arayik Harutyunyan chairing) of self-proclaimed “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”. As seen in the photo there is no visible flag or insignia, or rank on uniforms. Also, usage of civil structures for military purposes is violation of Geneva Convention.
- Charges against the prisoners include terrorism financing, intentional murder, aggressive war and the 2020 missile strikes on Ganja that killed 31 civilians. Such acts strip any combatant privilege.
- Second photo displays Vardanyan’s capture by State Border Security of Azerbaijan. He was captured while trying to flee Azerbaijan illegally. He was not captured during war or any active combat environment.

Concerning part is some of these books were the last copies and noone has tried to digitalise before destroying them. Before it happens to authors in Azerbaijan some preemptive steps should be taken, since azerbaijani language books are more vulnerable becasue they have less copies.

No TRIPP will be international rout and everyone including Armenia will use it. It will be more of a trade route, rather than corridor.

I am talking about 2 internationally recognised territories of Azerbaijan being connected. You are talking about Armenia and Azerbaijan's particulat region being connected. If we are going to discuss tangible things, let's do. If we will include our dreams, I have a dream too.

Accept it or not, Azerbaijan has always been the initiator of the peace talks. Long before 2020. Many times it was Armenian government and Karabakh clan that didn’t agree to a very sound peace agreement and resolution to the conflict. Azerbaijan has leveraged all international tools to peacefully handle this conflict in 30 years period, but in vain, since there are 2 parties to a peace. Now we have enforced UN resolutions, Azerbaijan still didn’t use this to its advantage by more war or more conflict which could have done easily. Instead chose the way of peace and trade.
