“Papa, I am proud of you”.
Reporter Kapil Raut emerged much better human than the young bullying him. ❤️ Thank you for keeping patience & doing your work. You are not a “loser”
Internet did good, standing in his support. 👍🏼⭐️
Listen to what @vijeshetty is saying.
#Yettinahole project will someday be written off as a terrible blunder by humanity. Not a single national political party can shy away their share of responsibility in this mess.
Mangalore may be the only city that has developed on its own, without receiving the recognition or benefits it deserves, despite being the second-highest tax-paying city in Karnataka.
#TIEMangalore
I was in Udupi over the weekend to attend a family event. While returning, I decided to drive through the Sakleshpura route from Mangalore. I hadn’t taken this route for at least two or three years because of the bad roads around Shiradi ghat.
As I was passing through, I remembered the Hanbal Chikki Factory, and I felt like I had to stop by. I’ve known Ravi Teja, the founder, for around six to seven years now and have always admired his resilience and passion for building Hanbal Chikki as a premium, healthy snacking brand from a tiny village near Sakaleshpura.
When I reached the place, I called Ravi on a whim to see if he was around, and surprisingly, he was right there inside the factory outlet. He was busy fixing a new machine he had installed to roll out healthy chakli options for his customers. A few minutes later, he came out to meet me - the same cheerful, humble man I met years ago, dressed in his panche, smiling as always.
It felt great to see him again after so many years. Despite all the ups and downs, Ravi has built the business to an annual revenue of around Rs 6–7 crore, yet he remains the same grounded person. We chatted for a while. I had spoken to him on and off in the past, trying to help in small ways to promote his brand when he was just getting started.
Now, it made me genuinely happy to see how much the brand has grown. He mentioned that nearly 60 percent of his revenue now comes from the factory outlet itself. Travellers passing through the route often stop by, explore the store, and buy varieties of chikkis, spices, and other local products. Visitors can even peek into the kitchen and see how the chikkis are made, observing the hygiene and cleanliness standards firsthand.
While we talked, he shared that Hanbal Chikki now supplies to corporates for snack orders, sells on Amazon, through WhatsApp, and even supplies to ISKCON and the Dharmasthala Temple nearby. His philosophy is simple: “If you deliver high-quality products consistently, trust builds automatically.”
Ravi now feels that they have earned that trust in the region, and he is proud that the company has created over 40 stable jobs in the small village of Hanbal, near Sakleshpur.
He also spoke about how particular they are about ingredient quality. Hanbal Chikki now offers 15 to 20 varieties, from orange and coffee chikkis to pomegranate and rose. I asked him if they used any artificial flavours or colours to make these, and he said no. They work with a Kerala-based company to source dried fruit powders, which they blend directly into the chikkis. Everything is completely natural.
He believes that while chikkis made with jaggery and peanuts are inherently healthy, they should also be fun and appealing for kids. That is why they have experimented with fruity flavours, and it has worked beautifully.
He even showed me a new coconut burfi-style product they recently launched, which is already selling well. Ravi’s approach is to launch at least one new product each month and closely observe how customers respond.
After spending years in the corporate world, learning how to build systems and processes, he returned to his village to do meaningful organic farming and gradually built this brand step by step. Today, he has not only built a successful business but also made a genuine social impact in his community.
Meeting him left me deeply inspired and content. Here is a man who truly followed his calling, built something meaningful, and is now creating opportunities for others in his village. I wish Ravi and the Hanbal Chikki team great success in the years to come.

This is Mangaluru! ❤️
I generally never bother with trolls, but since someone said I might’ve gotten lucky with auto driver or that some of them scam you, so I took an auto again today. The meter showed Rs. 58 and I gave Rs. 60. You can see how he promptly returned the 2 Rs.
Our region is dotted with small village temples, quiet, timeless spaces that remind us where we come from.
As Mangaluru grows into a technology hub, it’s this calm and culture that must stay at the heart of our progress.
Watching Mumbai’s new metro line open, I can’t help but dream of a day when Mangaluru has its own Kudla Metro - with stations that reflect our art, culture, and coastal soul.
Someday, we’ll get there♥️
“Mangalore is a great place…Mlore is on top of tier-2 cities in India, 2nd richest city in Karnataka…”
- Shri @TVMohandasPai in this interaction gives the most vocal testimonial for our city that we could have!
Our ooru and people are truly welcoming, friendly and there’s absolutely everything one can ask for. Esp for those who wish to #Startup, like Shri @rohithbhat says, Mangalore has it all.
I urge successful Mangaloreans from across the world to come #BackToOoru and let’s write the next big growth story of our country here on the #SiliconBeach of India.
Mangalore never had auto issue, for longer distance they always use meter, just for 1-2 km they wont which is fair.
Our people are kind hearted thats the best thing of Kudla
We are exploited!
Tuluver and Tulunad is being taken for granted like we don’t even matter.
Anyone can say or do anything.
They write lies, twist our culture, make money off our beliefs, cheat & still walk away clean.
Now they posted this and deleted it later under pressure.
Dussehra isn’t just a festival… it’s a return to my roots.
To the roar of Pili Nalike, the calm of the Devi temple,
and the fire of values I carry within.
जहाँ संकल्प श्री राम सा हो…वहाँ हर रावण की हार तय है
Wishing you all a Dussehra of courage, clarity, and culture.

Ppl in our town used to be disappointed when former MP was not attending our Chowti program.
Keep visiting us, it helps you connect with the youth in smaller towns like ours.
#SuFromSo is sparkling and laugh out loud funny but also moving and meaningful! Many congratulations @RajbShettyOMK and JP Thuminad. What a terrific blend of comedy, horror and messaging.
As #MonsoonSession takes off, sharing the latest episode of #CatchupWithCaptain that gives a glimpse into a unique ritual of the monsoon season, the month of Aati, in our Tulunadu…
The arrival of Aati Kalenja!
It’s a ritual of assurance. An assurance from a divine power who sends a chosen messenger to take away all ills that monsoon season tends to bring.
We offer our respects through those different things that are basic to our survival - it’s an exchange of energy.
It is divine providence in its simple, folk form that keeps us all in Mangaluru warm in this season of showers. Wishing all a happy, healthy Monsoon 🙏🏽
Hindustan is our pride, our heartbeat, our soul!

Dear so called fans/mad fans,
Understand the concept of franchise cricket.
They play for a franchise brand, they will be paid heavily whether they win or lose
Just because there is a name of your city, don’t lose your life going behind these fan madness.
