@jackmirkinson Grow up. Being disciplined by the university for lying about what he was going to say in his speech is in no way equivalent to an "unforgivable crime." And "freedom of speech" doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want without consequences.
@BerlantBro Imagine lying to the university about the speech you were going to give and thinking that "free speech" means you can say anything you want and not suffer any consequences.
@BTnewsroom The student lied about what they would be discussing, and NYU is fully within it's right to discipline him. It is not "retaliation" and "free speech" doesn't mean you can say anything you want without consequences. NYU students doing a great job of helping Trump once again.
@BulwarkOnline Hey @jaketapper and @AlexThomp - can't wait for your next book about the current president's cognitive decline! When do you plan to start working on it?
@EoinHiggins_ NYU handled this perfectly. "Free speech" doesn't mean you can say whatever you want without consequences. NYU is perfectly within its right to do this, and good for them. The student lied about what he would say, but you can bet he will be treated as a folk hero on the far left.
@samstein And if shown at all on any of the major nightly news broadcasts, it will be described as "controversial" rather than "deeply disturbing." All because mainstream media is so terrified of appearing "biased" it will simply ignore objective reality. It's insane.
@atrupar Elections have consequences, and the only way out of this madness is to have his lunatic supporters suffer as much as possible. It's the only way.
@cara_jeffrey Rose *does* deserve a plaque if the quality of play merits his inclusion in the HoF. Don't like his character/behavior? Me neither. But wait until you hear about Ty Cobb, Cap Anson, and many other miscreants I could name.
@jbarro It's really something that the media is focusing more on a guy who was losing his faculties but is no longer president rather than the guy who is currently the president and says and does insane things every day.
@SarahLongwell25 Future presidents will very possibly be people from the entertainment world with absolutely no political experience. That's what happens when people pay more attention to "celebrities" than anyone else. It's terrifying, but it has been coming to this for a long time.
@MikeDro_ Except that "re-instating" a dead person is not really doing anything. It's the HoF's decision to let Rose (and Jackson) in and always has been. MLB never made them ineligible for the HoF - the Hall itself did that. The Hall can choose not to induct them.
@JPHilllllll It's an American myth that most Americans are angry at rich people. They aren't. They are jealous of them, want to be like them, and admire them. It's very weird.
@atrupar Republicans have targeted Medicaid for years and voters in red states consistently support them. Hard to feel sorry for people who voted for this.
@janecoaston Except that lots of seriously shitty people believe those things. Being a true Christian isn't about beliefs or even faith; it's about what you do and say to help others and how you live your life.
