@AnikaSomaia Definitely interesting to think about these things and speculate how things will turn out. This year particularly has been a leap forward in automation!
@DoorDash in Seattle is hilarious. It takes ~2-2.5 hours to get the order in Bellevue. The forecasted delivery time is horrible. Maybe time to stop using the app.
lately, it feels like we’re doing a lot of things right, just never quite right enough.
your body isn’t getting enough movement, but running too much is bad for your knees. these shoes aren’t right. posture needs fixing. bread comes with warnings. sugar has consequences. protein is low, until it’s suddenly excessive. the paneer you’re eating might be fake. eggs can now cause cancer. the pillow is wrong. the room temperature is off. coffee consumption now has a correct timing. vitamin d is low, but stepping into the sun requires sunscreen.
skin feels dehydrated, but water alone isn’t enough. add electrolytes, but not too many. salt is bad, wait no it isn’t. sleep for eight hours without fail. nope, deep sleep matters more. track it. stop tracking. avoid screens. dim the lights. block blue light at night. magnesium can help, but don’t depend on it. lift or risk losing muscle, but lifting strains joints. yoga feels gentle, but not sufficient. hiit works, but don’t do it every day.
and somewhere in between all this, you also need work life balance. but these are your peak years. if not now, when will you hustle. there’s never been a better time to build, you know. but also rest. protect your energy. don’t burn out, but be ambitious.
every ordinary activity feels watched and needs juuust a little tweaking.
i don’t know if it’s being too online, too much content consumption, targeted marketing, or just a flood of well-intentioned advice finally reaching us all at once. but i think most of us are doing just fine. and it’s okay to choose ease over optimisation. to do fewer things well, and more things peacefully. track if you want, don’t track if you don’t.
maybe being at peace also means giving yourself permission to be a little imperfect sometimes :)
@DoorDash used to be really good. I could get my food delivered in 20-34 min but now it takes forever. It’s better to cook at home or just go out and eat!
