Asterix was also in the mix as a kid, but Tin Tin was a bit more relatable.

Terry Nation's The Fourth Horseman, opening episode of Survivors (1975-77). A masterclass of storytelling as we see how quickly society can break down, the veneer of civilization erased, as a plague wipes out most of the population. That first story remains chillingly believable.

@MikesWargames Same. First owned & played in 2nd ed, but the glut of excellent books around this slightly later era (coupled with the early WFRP stuff) were the ones. Just magically evocative to me. Got sucked in again with late 6th, which was fine, but 3rd era was the rat catcher's dog's nuts.
