Today marks the successful conclusion of a 12 day training program on Understanding and Development of Resilient Narratives, targetting religious leaders and security agents active within the correctional facilities in Kenya.
This collaborative effort between Kenya, Jordan and @ItalyinKenya, spearheaded by the National Counter Terrorism Centre in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Conflict Resolution @PeaceCenter_, Centre for Human Rights and Policy Studies @CHRIPSKE with the support of the Global Community Resilience and Engagement Fund @theGCERF, marks a crucial step in the continued strengthening of the fight against violent extremism and reintegration of violent extremism offenders.
The closing remarks by NCTC Director K. R. Kigen underscored the commitment of all partners and participants, emphasizing the necessity of a unified, multi-agency approach to prevent radicalization both within correctional facilities and the wider society.

Excited to welcome back Raudhat Saddam, a proud BA International Studies alum of #Classof2020. She delivered a guest lecture to our 2nd year students on International Conflict Management. The initiative is part of our ongoing effort to engage our alum in shaping the #SUfuture.
Dr. Rosalind Nyawira, the immediate former director of @NCTC_Kenya, embodies the strength and vision that have defined two decades of excellence. Reflecting on her journey, she shares:
"The proudest moments were seeing my team perform, knowing I had given them direction. Watching them rise to the challenge was like a proud mother seeing her children come of age."
Her leadership reminds us that communities are our greatest strength in countering violent extremism, and addressing root causes is the foundation of lasting peace.
At 20 years, NCTC stands proud—honoring leaders like Dr. Nyawira and celebrating the resilience, sacrifice, and dedication that have shaped our impact. Together, we continue to build a safer, stronger Kenya.

MY instant reaction: President William Ruto could have withdrawn the Finance Bill a few days ago and saved lives. But he was obstinate, and I watched police shoot protesters dead for no reason at all
We now have a break down of the Finance Bill in Kikuyu, Dholuo, Taita, Kimeru, Kisii, Swahili and Kamba. If you are able to translate it in a language that hasn’t been done, please reach out to me!
