One reason I can think of bloated real estate prices is black money. Corrupt politicians and bureaucrats park their money here. Business people with unaccounted wealth too park their money.

When we can make KYC so strict for financial assets, where every single detail is automatically reflected in income tax returns, can we not do it for real estate? Can we not link every single piece of land and building to PAN and Aadhaar and probe the source of wealth?

If there is willingness, real estate prices can be made realistic. Will political, bureaucratic and business class allow it to happen?

For those who asked about North Chennai, even here vote percentage has increased around 6%. Chennai's vote percentage should be close to 70%. This is phenomenal. Chennai is known for not coming out to vote. In my view, which would be confirmed on June 4th, Chennai is becoming a BJP fort. What a blow this would be for DMK, only Chennaites can understand.
