#IITBombayProtest It has been learnt that lawyer's black coat wearing girl Navneet is Indian origin OCI card holder German citizen. She revealed during her conversation with victim's relative that she is from Sr Adv Mihir Desai's Chamber. She was deliberately wearing black coat to pressurise/ influence victim's relatives and police. She was continuously pressurising student's parents to insist Atrocities Act complaint.
We urge @HMOIndia to investigate status of her OCI card and her stay as well as legal practice in Mumbai. Also We urge authorities to investigate her connection with Adv Mihir Desai's office and Adv Desai's financial/legal/political role in instigating massive agitations misusing local on-campus incidence of student's suicide.

The Director @iitbombay has shown great leadership over the last couple of days.

Today he spent >3 hours in an open house and addressed each and every question asked by students, and has managed to de-escalate the situation on campus.

He also assured
- Prof. Doolla’s suspension is only from his Dean-ship to allow for a fair and impartial investigation into what happened.
- Acknowledged concerns from the faculty, and assured them that the institute would always stand by them, and is standing by Prof. Doolla in every way possible.
- They will continue to take action against cheating.
- They will try to address mental health of students based on the route causes of the issue, and include student representatives in all the decisions that affect them.

Overall, all stakeholders were satisfied with the conclusions drawn, and the situation within campus has been diffused - which was very important.

IITB is an educational institution and with this de-escalation normalcy will be restored tomorrow onwards including restarting of lectures.

The politics of the incident have of course escalated well beyond the institute, but as students, that isn’t our responsibility to deal with. I hope truth prevails in the court of law.

I spoke up because I felt only one perspective was being shown, and the discussion was incomplete.

The general student body, including me, seem to be satisfied with the conclusions and standing behind the director on his promises.

That’s all on this situation from my end- expect to continue to see posts on semiconductors on this account now onwards, including my visit to Semicon India!

Dear Indians, never forget who is targeting Prof Suryanarayan Dulla.

There is no CCTV footage of him harrassing the student, nor have any faculty in the IIT stated that he was a casteist. Without any evidence they have tarnished his image to target GCs. Remember this.
