@BacteriaLio@Invinium This stems from the fact that people are not playing the games they "criticize", its easy to call something garbage when you have an exaggerated idea of what you are calling out
@vignoljump Unironically the most complete game out of all DMC games, but it's often overshadowed because it doesn't have the indepth combat and replayability as its main focus like the other titles but this also means it does level design, atmosphere, pacing way better in my opinion
@CDR93_Infinity@BENZOTOOIE This, i remember the lukewarm reception that ascension had, it wasn't bad or anything but it was clear the series was getting stale, people playing those games nowadays for the first time don't realize what a huge risk GoW 2018 was for the time
@Zouichi Honestly I don't even know how i used to put up with persona's pacing, i tried metaphor recently and had to drop it because of how slow the "tutorial" was, the fluff dialogue gets tiring really quickly
@notthisstuff@TheGoomb1 Dark Souls may not be a "traditional rpg" but when a game lets me play through the entire thing as a guy with a big stick or even just a broken knife without locking me out of it, I think it fits the role-playing category
@RAshfyre@yuramikon Difficulty modifiers should be an extra, not a crutch so the developers dont have to balance the default difficulty themselves, personally i dont care if a game is too difficult or too easy the point is to be consistent on how you implement difficulty throughout your game
