What happened in 1579?

According to historical sources, Murad III ordered the killing of the Jews of Constantinople, but the order was never carried out.
According to contemporary accounts, the reason was the Sultan's dissatisfaction with the luxurious clothing and expensive jewelry worn by members of the Jewish community.
What happened next?
The execution order was revoked. Court physician Solomon Ashkenazi and other influential figures intervened to prevent the killings.
Restrictions on clothing were introduced. Jews were forbidden from wearing certain types of expensive clothing, silk, and Muslim-style turbans.
Restrictions on jewelry were imposed. Jewish women were prohibited from appearing in public wearing luxurious clothing and expensive jewelry.
The Jewish community survived. The order did not result in the mass killing of Jews in Constantinople.
