Two months ago, FNB offered to move me from Private Clients to Private Wealth banking. I was agreeable. But they assigned me a White man as my new private banker and I was unwilling to accept that. I have taken the decision that as far as possible, I'm going to spend my money on Black-owned companies. And where the companies are White-owned and workers earn on commission, I want a Black agent. It is actually not morally justified for us as Black people in this country to not spent our money in Black businesses, and then turn around and speak of White monopoly. I don't see how we are going to ensure that Black businesses grow unless we actually invest in them. We must do so not with our politics only, but with our money too. And we must not apologise for it.

Fundamentalism. Especially in the educated, middle-class circles. Dating was once a curiosity-driven, gracious affair. Now it is a trauma-informed, rigid vetting system. You don't get the benefit of the doubt. No clean slates. No grace: just caution.

And we can't agree to disagree anymore. It is my way or your way. Anything else is toxic. And if you are the patient one who's keen on finding a middle-ground - that it's not me versus you, but us versus the problem - you'll be called manipulative.

Being the good one gets you punished; simply because, for them, a good relationship is them always getting their way. And when you are too good, when you are too patient, then you are after his/her money. Or weak. When you put your foot down, you are too controlling.

It must always be happy too - the relationship. Pleasing and perfect at all times. Anything else is a sign: that means the relationship is not working out. So we don't try at all to make things work. We just ship out at the 1st inconvenience.

We lack individuality as we have been groupies all our lives. When we come face to face with individuality, it feels like an attack on us. You could be as loving as a pet, as dotting as a painter's brushstroke, as patient as a saint in meditation, but she/he will still judge you on the preconceived notions she/he had about your kind.

So you are not just dating them anymore; you are dating their friends too - both offline and online friends. Navigating dating traumas - that you did not cause - and have nothing to do with you as a couple.

has a habit of shooting at black people. Last week Friday Rasake Ntauli went to report a murder of a black farm worker but instead he was arrested. Allegedly Odendaal conceals acts of brutality targeting black farmers.

RMpho Msauli, 26, was shot and killed in Phiri, Soweto, on 29 July 2023. It is alleged that Mpho was walking with her friends who were accompanying her home.

The women were then allegedly approached by a taxi, and the men started making inappropriate comments towards the women. One of the men wanted to be romantically involved with Mpho, but she told him she had a boyfriend and would call him.

He then took a firearm, shot her and drove away. She was then rushed to the hospital but was declared deceased. No one has been arrested yet. Fly high, Sister. #womenforchange #sayhername
