What's unique is the heel prick test to draw one drop of 🩸blood to be able to detect 51 disorders.
Eg: Congenital hypothyroidism in which it doesn't produce enough hormone and the 🐣kid's mental and physical growth is impaired. If you leave it to 2yrs to discover your child isn't talking/walking on time, it's sometimes too late. Now you can tell immediately. And 1 pill, thyroxin, for life fixes this.
This is great for folks who married their cousins, btw.
Costs Rs9,000 and takes 5 days.
Globally this screening is done to tell burden of disease, which we don't know in Pakistan.
