College softball has always felt like home. Iโm incredibly thankful for the opportunity to return to the game I love and join such a special program. Excited for whatโs ahead in Paradise. ๐ฆ๐ด๐ฅ
Just finished the first meeting with my team. I am glad, just as you are, to have Billy back on campus! This is a great group of guys who will play for one another (because thats who they are), ultra competitive, with a will to win. If we are not a great defensive team I havenโt done my job! We are physical, should be a great shot blocking team (at all 5 positions) and we have dogs! LETS GOOO
@LeaderJohnThune If you have time to post every single day on trivial matters in comparison, you have time to exert your power and PASS THE SAVE AMERICA ACT!!!!!
Dear @WhiteHouse, my name is Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service in Huntsville, Alabama. Through our 50 Yard Challenge, over 6,000 kids across the country have signed up to mow free lawns for the elderly, disabled, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and single parents. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year and me also being born on July 4th, I wanted to humbly ask if a few kids from our program and myself could travel to Washington, D.C. to help mow the White House lawn for this historic celebration.
More than anything, I want these kids to see how a simple act of service something as ordinary as mowing a lawn for someone in need can lead to extraordinary places. What better lesson in community service than showing them that helping others can take them all the way to our nationโs capital? Iโd also love to bring my American flag-themed mower in hopes that the President might sign it, so I can later auction it off and donate 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit supporting veterans. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight the importance of service, patriotism, and the impact young people can have when they choose to make a difference. ๐บ๐ธ
@shegone03 Last night, one of the Kansas pitchers was barking at one of our guys all the way up the first base line...get this, after he had made a HR. Our guy was not showboating, either. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I understand the disappointment. I have season tickets and go to every home game with the exception of some 3pm games that I cannot escape work for, for a lot of years now. I've been there. My reaction is in response to who would you get? I don't think there is anyone better than DVH currently. There is a lot of luck involved, even if you recruit perfectly. Look at UCLA, and other highly seeded teams that have been bounced by 200+ RPI teams. There may be a questionable assistant (ahem), but I would not trade DVH for anyone else, until he chooses to retire. We missed on pitching this year for sure, and some players digressed without even being injured. Go figure. And the errors...OMG. With that, I love every team that comes through here. We are competitive every year, with the exception of 2016 that comes to mind. I don't know what the answer is or how to harness the 'it' factor, but I don't believe that moving on from DVH is the answer. GO HOGS.
These three amazing coaches are proof that you can win at the highest level AND serve & lead the sport. All are longtime @NFCAorg Board members who prioritize their own programs AND the overall sport. I have never heard them say โI donโt have time.โ Instead itโs โhow can I help?โ
