This wraparound cover for the Science Fiction Book Club edition collecting Thuvia, Maid of Mars and The Chessmen of Mars showed readers on the front cover Carthoris protecting Princess Thuvia of Ptarth.

Only when they turned the book over did the charging banth appear.
