ALSO, what the general public needs to grasp is that SO MUCH WORK goes into helping students like this BEFORE it escalates. We aren’t listening to teachers, I’m confident she advocated for herself AND HIM multiple times before this incident. It should not have happened.

Teachers are threatened and harmed by students in the classroom every single day. That is a fact. Denying or ignoring that fact is no longer WORKING. (It never was)

I’ve been that teacher, MOST have. This is not sustainable. I stand with her.

Leaders, if its not important enough to fit in school hours then it's not important. And if it is then something less important needs to be removed first. We have to value teachers time and add no more to their plates.
