@umichvoter MN combines election day vote with absentees and reports them together for each precinct.
The only caveat is absentee ballots received between 3pm and 8pm on Election Day. Those can be reported separately if the county chooses. The # outstanding is posted on MN SOS site.
@MaxHailperin I seem to remember several years ago, Hennepin reported precincts as they were transmitted. Now, it's one large report. Is there a reason this changed?
I assume Adam is referring to the time before the 2018 elections, when all the Hennepin County Commissioners were white.
Angela Conley and Irene Fernando are the only two BIPOC County Commissioners in Hennepin County’s 174-year history.
Screwworms in Texas. Ticks and alpha gal across the Midwest. Center rates among 30 year olds up 5 to 10x normal rates in some states. Invasive tree-killing beetles spreading across the country.
That’s America first, baby.
@visceralscenery Yeah, to be fair to NY, if home values are lower, you need a higher tax rate to get the same revenue. A similar duplex in Mpls would cost a lot more.
Totally agree on the cost of housing. Even if I moved to my hometown, it would be a squeeze.
@TimRobinsson@aidan4progress I think results started to get delayed when in-person absentee ballot drop off was extended to 8pm in 2023. They moved it back to 5pm, so we will see if that helped.
@visceralscenery The abysmal compensation for artists is so real.
I dont think I can judge anyone there, though, because a good portion of my CD collection is used.
I do like how easy it is to discover new genres/eras of music. Most older gen in my fam just listened to what's on the radio.
@kylekatarn95@MappingFL There is none. The Minnesota Constitution requires 68 votes in the House for a bill to be considered passed. A 67-67 vote fails.
@JherreraJr12345@kylekatarn95@MappingFL The current Speaker is a Republican, but her powers are more limited than when a party has a majority. All committees but one have even DFL/GOP membership.
Any legislation needs 68 votes to pass the House, so there has to be negotiations to decide which bills come up for a vote
@trillharris Yeah I think Owatonna (my hometown BTW) is notably racist to say the least
