My newsletter today was a break from political analysis. Instead it was a restart of my religious blog
This lefty Christian has alot to say about the evil at the heart of this administration.

Josh doesn't even mention the worst part of Fetterman's irresponsibility. Because he won't wear a suit, he's *literally not allowed on the Senate floor*. That's where negotiations happen. He just doesn't go. He sits in the hall and signals thumbs up/down through the doorway.
The Senate is very much built on bargains and personal back-and-forth. Fetterman just sits all of it out. He plops himself on a chair in the hallway, alone, scrolling his phone, until an aide taps his shoulder to tell him it's time to peek his head in and vote.
@sfldwe I'm confused why California gets all of this heat, its a common dynamic across the western states. Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado, Alaska - they all have slow counts
its largely due to mail voting and same-day registration
I don’t fucking care
All results could have been reported last night and conspiracies would exist anyway.
I actively support the long count out of pure spite at this point. I find the ballot drops fun. Makes the following days interesting.
This is a reminder that there are real consequences to counting votes late. When citizens wake up, they expect they'll see some results that decently reflect the election outcome.
Seeing this — and then seeing Pan surge in the last 45% of the vote — destroys trust in elections.
I actually enjoy the California slow count because it pisses people off so much
Maybe its because I spend so much time digging through newspaper archives where returns would take weeks to be finalized, but I don't care at all about the slow count in the Western states
The House delivers a second foreign policy rebuke to President Trump, voting to start debate on a bill to tighten sanctions on Russia and send more aid to Ukraine
Right now my back of the napkin math leads to a fairway estimate of:
⚪️ Kiley – 24.6%
🔵 Pan – 22.8%
🔴 Stansfield – 20.4%
Pan is currently winning 41.6% of Democratic votes. My estimate is that he likely needs about 37.1% by the end to be even with Stansfield.
Experience is not a permission slip to disregard a community’s voice. Seniority is not a substitute for lived experience. Washington clout does not give anyone the right to treat FL-20 like a fallback option.
Miami Herald: To beat Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Black candidates consider coalescing behind one person
Four of the Black candidates running in the Democratic primary for Florida’s 20th congressional district met in a closed-door meeting Monday to discuss coalescing behind one candidate in the hopes of beating U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

At some point we have to acknowledge that the Russian propaganda machine has infiltrated the online left to the extent that these people are caping for a regime as far right and imperialist as any they hate
In 2023, chief justice John Roberts & SCOTUS majority said Alabama's argument for a "community of interest" along the gulf coast was BS.
Tonight, SCOTUS takes a reversal and says that a court-ordered map was not legal because it failed to keep Gulf coast comunity together
Our resign to run laws have been clear for years. No Anthony, you cannot run for Congress and keep your county commission seat.
Time to decide if you think the risk is worth it.
(1) Shelby: SCOTUS says that Congress no longer has pre-clearance authority for jurisdictions w/ legacy of racial discrimination. (2) Allen v Milligan: SCOTUS then says AL discriminated when designing their map (3) Yesterday: SCOTUS says we should assume good faith on part of AL.
