Weather in Anchorage is always great for planning. We’ll have an Easy-Up to get out from the rain for those that come. I’ll be the one with the umbrella ☔️
Let’s get together! We’re doing a meet and greet with EV owners at the @AlaskaRockGym EV charger location. Great opportunity to hang out with other EV owners and share your experiences.
Workshopping a new graphic to include the process for starting a charge session via the app. This also includes a change we implemented a year or more ago with auto start after authentication (No start buttons).
Thoughts?
@Robes1@plugshare I assume anyone with an EV. Being this is our first in a big city, I’m curious of the percentage used on the CHAdeMO side as it most likely will indicate the Leafs unlike the Teslas at our other locations.
Muni permit is complete and powered on equipment today. Just a bit of work on the backend like setting up the OCPP and doing removing the machine from Out of Service on Thursday and we should be ready for a test charge.
Just added this site to @plugshare as coming soon.
@Robes1 For last month, CHAdeMO usage at Cantwell was 57% of the sessions.
During the winter months, we typically see more CCS usage at this location.
Yep, up and back in about 8 hours; took longer today due to the rain and needing to add a charging stop each way.
We’ve been tracking an error 303 on our Cantwell location. Tried a few remote commands, but with no success we hit the road today to check on the equipment. Error 303: “RFID card or other external authorization (app, etc) was not detected within the timeout period”.
For those wondering; the CHAdeMO adapter has a PCB on board for comms conversation. The Charger sees the adapter and thinks it’s an EV but without a battery or BMS.
I think we’re going to transition to the CCS adapter to forego all the CHAdeMO adapter issues over the years.
And the issue is found. The Tesla CHAdeMO adapter was left connected. While this is not a big issue for users, it does make the charger appear “unavailable” in the app when planning for a stop.
On a good note, the app activation was smooth and worked as expected here!
Working on a functional app. We have an issue with which connector is labeled in the app versus in the field but man, this is great to see so far!
Not fully ready, but getting very close.
@markhkinak@28delayslater Yep, we have a review with Muni Inspectors tomorrow or Thursday for final approval, then off to commissioning and set up. My plan was online in May but the end is castle approaching.
Machines set, bollards placed, just finishing up landing wires tomorrow and we should be ready for inspections.
Next steps are:
1) CEA line extension
2) Parking lot re-striping
3) Commissioning
@itskyleconner I’m not certain of that claim yet. We’ve seen one of our CHAdeMO connectors being used on a battery larger than an MS or MX. And we two CTs here in AK for testing still.
In 2023 we worked to increase our equipment up-time by learning from our equipment failures in 2022. I’m happy to announce that our metric from 2023 was 98.6%!

Testing both chargers today. Currently only the second round for the one on the left and moving to the second round for the one on the right. All is checking out good to go.
Heads up EV users.
Our Delta Junction location is down today. With the current snow condition in Anchorage, the earliest it will be looked at is tomorrow evening.
