Big thanks to the authors and publishers who are creating their dreams without buy-in from falling behind orgs like RWA. You're feeding the souls and minds of hungry readers right now and your hard work is deeply appreciated. More than can be put in words.

Our experience with @romancewriters during our tenure was difficult and demoralizing. What progress you see is often powered by fiery individuals, but they are fighting against a system that doesn't want to change or share power.
Years of incremental work by internal advocates "fighting from within" can be swept away and ruined by systemic culture issues and a leadership who are trying to "maintain order" by choosing the side that causes the least disruption to them.

I've been thinking about RWA and Suzanne Brockmann's speech. I wasn't one of the ones cheering. Here's my letter to her: “Dear Suzanne Brockmann.” https://t.co/AMRnAQbE7i
Thanks to all who have sent info to RWA concerning trademarking of the word "cocky." We have been in touch with an IP attorney to seek advice/determine next steps. We appreciate info from both members & non-members, which can be sent to [email protected]
