The 5 elements of a powerful story:
Hero seeds in childhood,
a purpose that's NOT driven by a villain,
adversity that is a blessing in disguise
A bookend that connects childhood, adversity purpose to become destiny
Reverse Empathy:
Make others care about you first before you use techniques like "tactical empathy".
That's crucial in corporate settings because people don't believe your efforts if they don't see you as human.
"Corporate dog" "The boss" "The management"-
Tell your vulnerabilities without an agenda. Share the struggles you had, how you overcame them and draw a direct bridge how they can use your learning to get ahead themselves.
A narcissist saying: "You made me do this, if you behaved differently I didn't have to treat you this way"
Analysis:
1. You are to blame for my behavior
2. The narcissist(no guilt)
3. That you can be blamed for other people's behavior
4. Nothing
5. Your dignity & boundaries
I found 5 questions that help analyze any narrative and straight-up destroy any manipulation- be it from narcissists, media or marketing, here they are:
1. What's the big claim/main idea here?
2. Who benefits if you believe this claim?
3. What reality do you need to accept to believe the claim?
4. What do YOU gain from believing the claim?
5. What do you have to give up to believe this?
Here's an example:
The world we live in is not the world we see.
Our brains make up stories about literally anything and everything, it helps us navigate life.
So next time you feel upset, angry, anxious, don't look at the situation you'r ein but rather the story you tell yourself about it
Batman's backstory justifies a villain arc- but he chose to be a hero which makes him more relatable.
He doesn't officially have superpowers ( the wealth and massive intellect might as well be)
It's not what he can do but how he earned his abilities that make him relatable.
The hero's journey is outdated and bland.
It only crafts a story people can admire but not a journey people wanna relate to.
Look at Superman- he never earned his powers and his destiny is forced on him- compared to that:
4 life-changing mindset that helped me survive and bounce back from almost being homeless twice, losing all my income, getting bullied half my life and more: https://t.co/ysKxDx9qIB
@timgeorgee Without an audience you have no business, but without focusing on business you can't build an audience- so both as two side of the same coin.
@CsillaMezei I always do, but with a twist. When I feel good, I use an affirmation as an answer like "I'm fantastic", "I'm amazing" etc.
When I feel bad I say: "I'm working on xyz", "I'm processing xyz"
