@obakachantachi@offbeatorbit Ok and I was 14 a decade before the pandemic and no young teens considered a popular mall store to be a vulnerable space..like you’re literally at the mall in a dressing room stfu
@CaucasianOprah@eyeswideslvt There never has been lmao…my ex would go shopping at VS with his high school girlfriend in the 90s/early 2000s and he talked about how many men and boys were there waiting outside the fitting rooms for their partners, sisters, moms, etc.
Being part of a generation that was told “Wikipedia is not a source” makes it genuinely baffling to me that jobs are now telling people to just use ChatGPT for everything.
“A family from Mexico arrives this morning legally has as much right to the American Dream as the direct descents of the Founding Fathers.”
Bob Dole accepting the Republican nomination for President in 1996.
@StaceyJSpiehler@merrydevo Exactly—it’s almost an impossible choice: potentially burying your child, or having them outlive you without guaranteed safety/kindness. You’re right, we cannot rely on the world to be caring or accommodating and it’s devastating
@qwertynumbersix@genuinezebratom This is true but how the fuck is their argument: “you guys pronounce this word the way we would mispronounce it” ?? Just being loud and wrong for no reason lmao
@merrydevo Pap smears are nbd (not my ideal activity but it’s slightly uncomfy and quick) and every guy I know who’s had a vasectomy has said the same thing about their vasectomy experience lol. The procedures themselves aren’t comparable ofc but neither should be extraordinarily painful
No amount of words can convey how far behind this country will be in every avenue for a number of years because of this administration and everyone associated with them with stuff like this happening.
@_xrens6@spacemanonfire@NoQuarter4MAGA@PanderShirts “If having a big nose is more common in black/Jewish people, that means it’s a black/Jewish trait” do you see how ridiculous that sounds? Something being more common in certain populations does not give claim to it, nor does having that trait make one a member of that population.
@_xrens6@spacemanonfire@NoQuarter4MAGA@PanderShirts Absolutely, we know autism exists! And we know bigoted talking points hold no value. That’s why the commenter’s argument is absurd and holds no value. Just because many people in a given population share a trait, doesn’t mean it’s a trait that belongs solely to that population.
@spacemanonfire@NoQuarter4MAGA@_xrens6@PanderShirts “If ABC is more common in people with XYZ, it’s an XYZ trait”
If this were true then a LOT of racist, misogynistic, transphobic, etc. rhetoric should be considered true, bc there are many traits that are more common in certain groups. That does not mean those are group traits.
@AQUAKTTY Go for it if you can make the $ work! LMSW is more versatile than LPC -both are great if you want clinical work but MSW has more avenues if you want to shift to a different role. When I was applying to grad school my therapist said he wished he’d done an MSW instead of Counseling
@AQUAKTTY LMSW and I make $71k first job out of grad school working in community mental health! It’s based in MD so maybe slightly higher COL than other states but there’s a lot of jobs out there for us! Still underpaid for what we do though lmao
@deerboyf@_captrobbie19@nocontextmemes And their little pea brain couldn’t even think of “stove cooked, not store bought” or “simmered on the stove, not sourced from the store” or something alliterative like that lmao
