Anyone know what's happening with the Mexican passengers who arrived on Flight AM 616 from MEX to YYZ that landed 11:34PM EST and had their eTAs cancelled at 11:30PM while the plane was circuling YYZ? @Canborder, are you issuing TRP? #cdnpoli#cdnimm
As of 11:30 pm EST all eTAs for Mexican passport holders will be cancelled, with the exception of those linked to valid study or work permits. This includes any that were applied for today. No refunds will be issued. https://t.co/paSAsg2jxX
As of February 29, 2024 at 11:30 PM EST, Mexican citizens will need a visa to enter Canada unless they meet certain criteria. Most existing electronic travel authorizations (eTAs) for Mexican passport holders are being cancelled. https://t.co/RRRcYvMHKT
Mexican citizens may reapply for a new eTA if they are flying to Canada and: (1) held a Canadian visitor visa in the last 10 years, or (2) currently hold a valid United States non-immigrant visa. Otherwise, they need a visa.
Mexican citizens with a valid Canadian work or study permit are not affected. Their eTA will not be cancelled and they can continue to travel to Canada.
Mexican citizens without a valid work or study permit who are already in Canada may stay for as long as they are authorized, but their eTA will be cancelled. If they leave Canada and wish to return, they'll need a visa or a new eTA, if eligible.
Mexican travellers may experience delays when arriving at Canadian airports due to the changing entry requirements. More information about what to do if you are a citizen of Mexico planning travel to Canada is available on our website: https://t.co/xlT6dpbZdn

The #immigration Minister's reaction to Canada's skilled worker crisis is akin to the surprise of a bus driver crashing on the highway after letting go of the wheel to have a smoke in the back seat #cdnpoli#canpoli#cdaimm#canadaimmigration#cdnecon
