If Sindh is considered a motherland, don't Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan serve as motherland for their residents as well?

Pakistan is quickly heading towards a very serious condition. There is an ongoing discussion in Pakistan about whether or not to establish new provinces.

The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is clearly against the idea of forming new provinces.

They argue that new provinces could be formed in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan, but they believe that no new province should be made in Sindh.

The PPP and Sindhi nationalist organizations are opposed to splitting Sindh and claim that Sindh is their motherland. However, does this imply that Punjab is not the motherland for Punjabis?

Is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not the motherland for Pashtuns?

Is Balochistan not the motherland for Baloch people?

If it is possible to form new provinces in three other provinces, why can't new provinces be established in Sindh?

Creating new provinces does not imply that Sindh is being split apart.

Four areas were formed inside a single nation, and this did not negatively impact the country, nor did it result in the separation of Pakistan.

The formation of these new areas will not change the existing status of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
Sindhi nationalist groups and the PPP, as a political organization, have the right to disagree with the formation of new areas in Sindh.

Nonetheless, it is hard to see how dividing areas are viewed as acceptable in three regions but not acceptable in one region.

Name just one country in the world where the history and geography in 2026 are exactly the same as they were 1,000 or 500 years ago.

The PPP and Sindhi nationalists are aware that the call for forming new provinces has originated from the federal government and the military, but the PPP is targeting the Muhajirs.
It is undeniable that the PPP was formed by the military.

It has consistently supported so-called nationalist groups in Sindh to intimidate the federal government and the military.

Those nationalists advocating for an independent Sindhudesh have not only kept voting for the PPP in elections and supported its victories, but they also support the PPP in various ways.

The citizens of Pakistan and the military have realized that, since Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's time, the PPP has used a group of nationalists to threaten the military.

This is why the so-called nationalists and the PPP keep saying the same thing: if their demands are not met, Sindhudesh will become a reality.

Even now, members of the PPP in the Sindh Assembly have subtly warned that if the topic of creating new provinces in Sindh comes up, it could lead to violence and make way for Sindhudesh.

We must look at Pakistan's current condition with great care.

Long ago, Indian-controlled Kashmir was not seen as part of India's current territorial setup, but it is now included in the Indian Union. Meanwhile, the region of Kashmir that Pakistan oversees is known as Azad Kashmir.
However, the people of Kashmir are currently expressing that Kashmir is not genuinely independent and is governed by the national government of Pakistan like a part of Pakistan.

The residents of Kashmir are asking for their freedom along with their rights, but they are facing gunfire.

They seek to have control over issues related to water, electricity, gas, and flour, as well as more authority for the Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir.

Despite these requests, those voicing them are being shot at, and reports indicate that over 100 Kashmiris have been killed so far.
At this time, the situation in Kashmir has become very serious.

A violent rebellion is ongoing in Balochistan.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there are almost daily suicide bombings and explosions targeting police and Frontier Corps checkpoints.

اگست 2016 میں ایم کیو ایم کی تقسیم پارٹی کیلئے ایک بڑا سیاسی دھچکہ ضرور تھا, لیکن یہ پہلا بحران نہیں تھا کیونکہ ایم کیو ایم نے اس سے پہلے بھی متعدد بحرانوں کا سامنا کیا، جن میں 19 جون 1992 کا آپریشن کلین اپ بلاشبہ سرفہرست ہے- آج 34 برس کا طویل عرصہ گزر جانے کے بعد بھی اس آپریشن کا سامنا کرنے والے کسی بھی فرد کے ذہن سے اس دور کی ہولناک یادیں محو نہیں ہوتیں۔
اس آپریشن کا باضابطہ آغاز تو جون 1992 میں ہوا لیکن اس کے آثار 1991 سے ہی سامنے آنا شروع ہو گئے تھے۔ میں کراچی سے لندن تک اس دور کے بیشتر اہم واقعات کا شاہد ہوں اور میری کتاب “تاریخ کا قرض” ایم کیو ایم کی تاریخ کے اس اہم ترین دور کو محفوظ کرنے کی ایک کوشش ہے۔ یہ کتاب کافی عرصہ پہلے مکمل ہوگئی تھی لیکن کچھ وجوہات کی بنا پر اسے جاری نہیں کیا جاسکا۔ محترم مظہر عباس صاحب نے اس کتاب کے مسودے کا مطالعہ کرکے گزشتہ برس اس حوالے سے ایک ٹوئٹ کردی تھی، جس کے بعد بہت سے احباب نے کتاب کی فرمائش کی، اس لئےمیری کوشش ہے کہ پہلا ایڈیشن ان احباب کو بھیج سکوں جبکہ کوشش ہے کہ آن لائن پلیٹ فارمز پر بھی یہ کتاب جلد دستیاب ہوسکے۔

اس کتاب میں ذاتیات سے مکمل طور پر گریز کرتے ہوئے صرف واقعات پر توجہ دی گئی ہے۔ میری یہ پوری کوشش رہی کہ ان تاریخی واقعات کو پوری سچائی اور ایمان داری سے بیان کیا جائے، لیکن انسانی غلطی کا احتمال بہرحال ممکن ہے جسکے لئے پیشگی معافی کا خواستگار ہوں۔
قارئین اس کتاب کا مطالعہ کرتے ہوئے یہ بات ذہن میں رکھیں کہ یہ پارٹی لٹریچر نہیں بلکہ تاریخ کو محفوظ کرنے کی کوشش ہے۔
ایم کیو ایم اور متعلقہ موضوعات کے اس سلسلے کی اگلی جلدوں پر کام جاری ہے جنہیں جلد آپ کی خدمت میں پیش کیا جائے گا۔
