I don’t live an esoteric life
I lead a pretty typical suburban life but incorporate principles (maybe considered esoteric) that I believe have the biggest impact on our health
Here are some things that matter most to me ⬇️
- Circadian rhythm alignment - getting 🌞 at different points in the day (sunglasses not allowed)
- 🚶♂️ Activity (at least 10-15k steps a day)
- 💡Light environment (Reducing blue light exposure and optimizing sunlight)
- 🥘 Focusing on real food and not getting caught up in dogma
- ❤️ Relationships (Need to foster and grow loving relationships!)
- 📚 Learning/Creating (Feeling that purpose and flow)
Don’t jump on every bandwagon. Create a set of principles, stick to them and slowly change habits to align to those principles.
“We have no choice” 📺
⬆️ A common phrase from busy parents but here’s the thing. You DO have a choice!
If we allowed it, my kids would watch 📺 for hours but we don’t and it results in them finding something to do.
Books, legos, building forts…
They can figure out “bored”

@BiggestComeback It’s always baffled me that someone would choose “pro industrial seed oil” as the hill to die on
Constantly quoting poorly constructed and executed studies to prove their point for what? So more people buy canola oil?
I guess humans have only gotten healthier with it. Oh wait..
@strong_sistas Milk fortification = 🍨 fortification
Most people don’t realize the ice cream they’re eating, even if billed as “homemade”, starts with a base of these ingredients (poly 80, carrageenan, etc) and then is topped off with an extra serving through fortified milk 😬
If nothing else, scroll to “How to Improve Your Light Environment”
One simple thing we’ve done is buy some old school lamps with incandescent bulbs to limit the need for overhead LED lights in the evening
is blue light this generation's smoking?
or is it just a health fad to sell weird glasses?
...time to clear up the confusion.

@flabbytofit99 Lots of listening and no judging. I actually found less of a need for “the talk” with this method.
My son is a few years older and he asks me everything. The car, without music, is a great place to just sit quietly until your kid starts talking.
@NutritionMadeS3 Wow really missing the point.
It’s ok to not hate on seed oils but trying to relate it to tallow because tallow is used in a certain way doesn’t make sense.
@maxlugavere 😂 Let’s just take a look at how they defined butter:
“butter from butter and margarine blend, spreadable butter added to food and bread (excluding cooking), and butter used in baking and frying at home.”
Yes, exactly what we think of as natural butter 🧈
Other parents have this expression 🤯 when I tell them I would give my kids pure sugar over any candy
The mainstream narrative is to blame sugar for what the seed oils, food dyes and other artificial ingredients have done
Maple sugar cotton candy > Nerds

The best thing you can do your family’s health is to walk the walk
It’s not to lecture, yell, or “make them” do what you do
My kids 👀 what I do. They also 👀 me reading stacks of publications and books 📚 to continue learning.

@ancienth_h I’ve always had low mental stress but I believe an overlooked issue in gut health is the amount of stress the body is under
Chronic working out, fasting, eating lower calories than I should all caused stress that I believe contributed to the gut issues
