I agree. That is a great comparison, Randy. Even intransigent Democrats and holdout Republicans united in the aftermath of the tragic loss of President Kennedy - proving that political will can be unified when the stakes are high and the nation is mourning a great loss.

My only concern is that our nation is so polarized right now socially and politically, and the fact that it's Donald Trump who would make the appeal doesn't give me a lot of confidence that he could get it across the finish line without some additional compelling forces. But your idea is an excellent one!

Agreed! The bigger tragedy is most Americans have never actually studied the Constitution and know nothing of its content, its history, its meaning, and how it applies to every day life.

They damn sure don't so recognize the God who ordains those inalienable rights! That's why they're so quick to relinquish those rights that God says are true - regardless of whether or not we like them or agree with them for our society.
