@Staciopath@Cernovich@JackPosobiec I firmly believe there is something anti-Catholic at work in this. The sudden framing of completely sane and arguably conservative statements by the Pope as “Marxist” doesn’t make sense, and the anti-papal commentary doesn’t fit the statements made. Something hinky.
@KongCatholic@dapr_goat@abr_atlas Exactly. People look for things to complain about. Just go to the time of day when reverent people go, talk to the priest about it, donate some incense, or move parishes. This stuff reeks of liberal victim mentality nonsense.
@dapr_goat@abr_atlas What region of the country are you in? I notice masses in New England are less reverent, whereas the Mid Atlantic and South are well celebrated. I think the issues aren’t with the NO masses, but with the culture of the region in general. That explains the disconnect people share
@moonbootspleb@ChristopherHale He wants people in oppressive states to be able to follow Catholicism. He’s talking about China, the Middle East, and oppressively secular states that punish believers.
In many states is perfectly legal to defend your home with lethal force. But not if the person knocking down your door is law enforcement.
But anyone can yell “Police! Warrant!” while breaking down your door.
This alone is why no knock raids should be abolished.
@ThomasEWoods I’m convinced that the whole “the Pope is a communist” thing is an anti-Catholic psyop. He’s calling on individuals to make cultural changes, not on governments to use force. Societal charity IS a different catagory from political alignment or the use of force to redistribute
@abn@UniCatolicos_es Jesus also flipped tables, zapped a fig tree with lightning, and publicly chastised the hypocrites and Pharisees. The whole verse you’re talking about revolves around Jesus publicly condemning people doing unholy things.
@ThomasEWoods I didn’t get anything from this post because I was so distracted by how cool a word “peccadillos” is, wondering why I’ve never heard it before, and planning out how I’m going to use it asap.
@gorky_pdx@sanderson1611 He’s talking about the Sacraments. Catholicism is a group project, where people are held accountable and worship in communion. As opposed to the Protestant idea that you can attain salvation in isolation, which reeks of pride and selfishness.
@sanderson1611 That “weird pagan crap” existed for about 250 years, handed down directly from the Apostles, before the Bible was written. The Chirch Counsels assembled the Bible to be a guide to sacramental observance, and the Bible is secondary to the Sacraments.
@apollorusso_@Cernovich You’re buying into anti-Catholic spin on this. He’s not a Marxist advocating for the use of force or pushing some political agenda. He’s asking people to be charitable.
