Wow!
Let this sink in: After the first round of US-Iran talks in Islamabad, US intelligence picked up that Israel was planning to assassinate the Iranian negotiators as they were returning to Tehran.
The US told regional states to alert Iran.
Israel is a state that, on paper, is a US partner but in reality is so extreme in its obsession to undermine US diplomacy that it even tries to assassinate those the US engages with in crucial negotiations.
I can't recall a government as terrified of peace as the one running Israel.

AOC responds to centrists telling socialists to leave the Party:
"You can't tell them to get out and then in a Presidential cycle tell them they have an obligation to vote for you".
Karl: Josh Gottheimer, a Democratic member of Congress, who says, āMany of us believe, as do I, if youāre a socialist, you are not a Democrat.ā And in fact, they put out a manifesto today.
Mamdani: Sounds pretty socialist to meā¦. I'm not interested in writing a manifesto or frankly, in reading one. I'm interested in delivering. And that's exactly what we've been showing.
Karl: Republicans are going to make you the poster child for the Democratic Party.
Mamdani: Let them. We donāt have to ask ourselves what life looks like if a socialist wins. I won last November, and over the course of these last six months, what weāve delivered for working people are the very things we were told were impossible.
Weāve delivered free child care for two-year-olds for the first time in New York City history. Weāve delivered tens of millions of dollars back to tenants who were taken advantage of by bad landlords. Weāve delivered 165,000 potholes being paved. And weāve done all of these things while also delivering the lowest recorded crime in our cityās history.
Thatās what it looks like to have democratic socialism. And what youāre seeing is that New Yorkers experienced this for six months and made the decision that they wanted to see more of it on the national stage as well.

Across NY & MD, I'm counting 12 Democratic incumbents who lost (or, in one case, are trailing) to a challenger to their left.
ā2 congressmembers (both NY)
ā4 state senators (2 in NY, 2 in MD)
ā6 state house members (5 in NY, 1 in MD)
A thread to break this down.

NEWS: In a stunning upset, Mamdani-backed Darializa Avila Chevalier will defeat five-term incumbent Adriano Espaillat in the NY-13 congressional primary.
With victories by Brad Lander, Claire Valdez, and now Avila Chevalier, Zohran Mamdani went 3-for-3 with his endorsements in New York City's Democratic primaries.
Abhorrent!
The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry concluded in a report today that:
- Israeli authorities and security forces have deliberately targeted Palestinian children resulting in genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.
- The intense scale and systematic nature of the Israeli military operations have continued ā resulting in unprecedented death, injury and trauma of Palestinian children.

When you take into account both Trump and JD Vance's comments of the past 72h, it is not just a push back against Israel's efforts to sabotage the deal with Iran.
It has the broader contours of an effort to "de-specialize" the US-Israel relationship. To turn it into a more normal - and healthy - relationship.
While this will cause panic in much of Washington, it will be tremendously popular with the American public, particularly younger demographics (on both the Left and Right) and with the America First base of Trump himself.
Egregious
Israel breaks the ceasefire and attacks Lebanon. Four of their soldiers are killed while they killed 28 civillians in the attack. Israel plays the victim and cites the four IDF soldiers in their offensive attack as reason to increase the attacks. Moral bankruptcy.
š“ Iran has announced that the Strait of Hormuz is once again closed.
Tehran claims the move is a response to Israelās strikes in Lebanon.
What they donāt mention is that Hezbollah has been attacking Israel on a near-daily basis and killed four Israeli soldiers yesterday.
Iranās strategy is twofold:
1ļøā£ Drive a wedge between the United States and Israel.
2ļøā£ Establish a reality in which Hezbollah gets to shoot at Israelis indefinitely, but Israel is not allowed to respond.
Trump on Iranās ballistic missiles:
āThey have to have some because other people have some⦠what am I gonna do? Weāre gonna let Saudi Arabia have missiles but they canāt?ā
I get that itās funny and I appreciate the common sense approach but if Trump really wants to shutdown these morons and their criticisms he needs put up the casualty estimates he was shown by the Pentagon for what it would take to stop Iranās ballistic missile program.
Throw it in their fat faces. Tell them flat out āthe Pentagon said it would probably cost us the lives of at least 30,000 soldiers and thatās not a price Iām willing to pay.ā
Yes, I know thatās not how youāre supposed to approach these matters when discussing official military policy in public but every single day those assholes throw decorum and political etiquette out the window so who even cares anymore?
No Israel, weāre not willing to send 30,000 Americans to their deaths to stop Iran from having ballistic missiles. Get over it.
This whole press conference is remarkable
Its like someone just injected Trump with the truth and not the israeli neocon propaganda
Israel got caught lying and hopefully Trump has had enough. You were looking at a global catastrophe when the reserves run out on July 15th
šŗšø President Trump said the Iran agreement helped avert a global energy crisis:
šø āWe run out of reserves in about four weeks.ā
šø āWe would really run out, and thereāll be a time when you wouldnāt be able to get it.ā
Trump said that without a deal and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the world was headed toward an āeconomic catastropheā and severe oil shortages.
šŗšø President Trump open to nuclear enrichment for Iran: "It's a little hard when other people have it, other adjoining states have it & you're not letting them have it for purposes of electricity & things like that. You have to use a little common sense."
