"I support my man in every little way, I can support."
"No matter how little, but something for your man."
"How can you close your eyes and watch your man pay all the bills? Even if it is Maggi for soup, do something, no matter how little"
Na that "little" I no want. I dey forbid am. Why is every financial input you want to make in your relationship and marriage "little?" I want my partner's support in every way possible. You dey forbid to do big thing? Where is the partnership?
You're an adult. I expect you to behave like an adult and that includes, sorting bills.
Another advantage of being in tech is being able to see a problem and think of multiple solutions instead of just complaining.
When the Nigerian government launched the list of PVC ( CVR) centres, it was a minimal interface that required you to do alot of manual work. When I saw it, I decided to build two things with @Salus_Cloud ASAP.
1. An interface that allows you search your address or location, and it'll show you the closest PVC center from your location.
2. Get daily email reminder with the locations that'll encourage you to go and get your PVC, and these emails will only stop once you tell the system that you've gotten your PVC.
Do your part as a Nigerian today, Join 500+ people and go to https://t.co/WAf4ZjTJAr and find the location close to you.
Before VS after
Now people don’t even know what Lorem Ipsum is and their first website is a SaaS product hosted on Netlify with Google auth, stripe payment and Resend . 😂
Interesting times.
Most people think this advice is horrible.
But that’s because we now live in a culture where people have traded integrity for self-interest.
Everything has become about “getting mine,” even if it comes at the expense of the marriage itself.
Let’s flip the situation around.
If a woman’s father offered to buy her a house, but only under the condition that her husband’s name was left off the deed, and she agreed to it, the internet would immediately call her selfish, manipulative, and controlling.
But when the advice is geared toward a man excluding his wife, suddenly people call it “smart,” “logical,” or “protecting yourself.”
That is a double standard.
Once you get married, your spouse is supposed to become your primary family unit.
That is how you avoid major problems later in the marriage.
The moment parents are placed above the spouse or the marriage, the foundation of the relationship starts to crack.
Parents having financial control over the home, the deed, or leverage inside the marriage almost always creates resentment, division, and power imbalances over time.
The smart thing to do is simple:
If the home cannot be built equally and exclusively between the individual or mutually between the couple alone, then the offer should be turned down.
Because nothing in life is truly free.
Everything comes with a price attached to it and parents controlling a marriage is a bad decision.
A healthy marriage cannot thrive when outside family members are given authority inside the relationship.
The fact that so many people no longer understand this concept only shows how much modern relationships have lost the meaning of unity, loyalty, and proper roles within marriage.
